Together with our global partners, we will work to tackle the greatest challenge humanity faces, including:

🌡️ stepping up international climate action to keep the 1.5°C global warming target alive;
💰 setting a new climate finance goal;
🌍 progressing on climate adaptation and resilience.

Governments, industry, civil society, and citizens must work together to tackle this existential crisis and make the green transition a reality.

The tip of the (melting) iceberg....

What you see of fast fashion is not what it really is.

Fashion is one of the least sustainable industries worldwide. About 5 million tonnes of textiles are thrown away every year in the EU, polluting our planet.

🍁🍂🌰 As the season changes, let's think twice before running to the shops. Can you repair, reuse, recycle – or restyle – old clothes? Or browse thrift shops for high-quality, pre-loved clothing?

We are creating a greener, more competitive textiles sector with the 🇪🇺 Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles by:

🟢 Tackling greenwashing,
️🌏 Restricting the export of textile waste and promoting sustainable textiles globally,
🗑️ Reversing overproduction and overconsumption, and discouraging the destruction of unsold or returned textiles,
♻️ Setting design requirements for textiles to make them last longer, easier to repair and recycle, as well as requirements on minimum recycled content...

… to name just a few!

The Photography group in Riga Style and fashion technical school created their own color pigments from plant powders during the Science class, and in Visual Communication, these bio colors were used to create beautiful botanical drawings. 🎨🌱

A big thank you to our creative teachers Jekaterina Sokolova and Kristīne Krastiņa-Indāne for inspiring lessons and revealing the magic of natural colors! ✨
