Japanese is the fastest recorded language. Spanish is right behind Japanese and is nearly as fast with a rate of 7.82 syllables per second, as opposed to German or Mandarin.

La rapidez del idioma se basa en la cantidad de sílabas que un hablante medio puede pronunciar por segundo. En este sentido, el español es la lengua más rápida del mundo. Comparte el puesto con el japonés. En el lado opuesto se encuentran el alemán y el mandarín, que son las lenguas más lentas de pronunciar.

There are about 1,000 roots, and around 3,000 derived words from Arabic in Spanish, that means 8% of the Spanish dictionary - the second largest lexical influence on Spanish after Latin.

El hecho de que los árabes estuvieran tanto tiempo viviendo en la península ibérica ha hecho que muchas de las palabras que se utilizan actualmente tengan raíces árabes. Nada menos que 4.000 términos del español tienen su origen en esta lengua, como "aceituna", "azúcar", "almohada", etc.

Formerly they used to call the Castilian Spanish the "Christian" language.
When the Arabs arrived in southern Spain, most of the population used this word to differentiate between people who spoke Spanish and those who spoke Arabic.

Cuando los árabes llegaron al sur de España, la mayor parte de la población utilizaba esta palabra para diferenciar a las personas que hablaban castellano de las que hablaban árabe.

When I was travelling through Costa Rica, I used to hear a lot the expression “Pura Vida” (“Pure/Simple Life”). And was surprised to find out that it can mean so many things!
Costa Ricans (Ticos) use this term to say hello, to say goodbye, to say everything’s cool, to say thank you. Actually, depending on the intonation, “pura vida” can mean all kind of things: agreement, joy, excitement, brushing off negativity, saying sorry for running late or saying that you don't care. If it’s uttered with irony, it may express ridicule or show dislike, but these are subtleties not that easy to catch. Usually though, “pura vida” denotes the most positive and beautiful things that life can offer. It goes beyond words, resulting in a lifestyle: without worries, without fuss, without stress. “Pura vida” to Ticos means being thankful for what they have and living for today.
Pura Vida, amigos!🙏
