And the RGSL Debate Society strikes again - this time at the British parliamentary debate tournament LU Open 2020. Not only did we see our students - Dairis Zitāns, Harry Vinovskis, Reinis Aņiskovičs, and Kārlis Aleksandrovs amongst the debaters, but the chief adjudicator of the tournament was Adele Pužule and two of the judge seats were filled by Annija Grūbe and Ieva Hūna. Also big congrats to Dairis and Reinis for reaching the semi-finals and Reinis for being awarded as the 5th best speaker of the tournament!

Guess what happened today?! Our Y2 Law and Diplomacy students, Adele Pužule, Harry Vinovskis and Sabīne Stirniņa, participated in the QUO tu domā? debate tournament “Riga Mini 2.0” and took home not one, not two, but THREE awards! Congrats to Adele for being awarded the title of “Best speaker” of the tournament, Harijs for being awarded the title “Best Novice Speaker” of the tournament and the whole team placing 1st and having the most points overall! What a great way to kick off the new debate season, don’t you think?

The Debate academy is notorious for its amazing one-of-a-kind CA’s, countless workshops and unforgettable parties...and this year will be no different!
This year the event will take place from the 5th until 7th of June and will gather countless talented debaters and adjudicators from all around the world here. The lectures (that will be held in English) will be divided in four categories: beginner, intermediate, advanced and general and will happen in parallel to each other. During the last day of the Academy you'll have the chance to participate in a mini BP tournament.
❗️Both university and secondary school students are welcome to join no matter the level of experience they have❗️
❗️If you do not have a debate partner, do not worry - use this as an opportunity to meet new people - register alone and we'll pair you up with a partner to debate with during the last day of the Academy. ❗️
