Photography and Sculpture Studio by Lu Ostrinski

“Over five sessions, children go on a journey from photography to sculpture, exploring their external and internal image. They learn to see themselves, express their feelings and thoughts through visual forms, work with different materials, and create personal artistic statements.

Each session combines mini-lectures, visual examples from world art, short videos, and hands-on practice: photography and sculpting masks.
The final event is an exhibition of the participants’ works — photographic portraits, sculptural masks, and personal stories.

The course introduces children to iconic portraits from world art and shows that creativity is not about “being able to draw,” but about freedom, play, and self-discovery.
This program helps children open up, become bolder in self-expression, and feel the value of their own perspective. Above all, it helps them see their uniqueness.”

We are starting to share our exciting summer studios. This one is special. Led by Germans Aminovs — EIS History, Geography, and Global Perspectives Teacher and Studio Leader at Exupery Summer Camp:

Hey! My name is Germans, and history has been my passion since I was young. One of the things that fascinates me most about history is how little we sometimes know about the past, and how surprisingly easy it can be to confuse truth with a really good fake. As a history teacher, I sometimes find it both worrying and amusing to see how entire societies, in the past and today, can be influenced by stories that are not actually true.
Let me give you two examples. In 1957, the BBC aired a short report showing a Swiss family harvesting spaghetti from trees. It looked completely serious: a calm narrator, people picking spaghetti strands from branches, baskets being filled. The result? Many viewers believed it. Some even called the BBC asking where they could buy their own spaghetti tree. It was actually an April Fool’s joke.
Or take an even older story. In 1835, the newspaper The Sun published articles claiming that astronomers had discovered life on the Moon. The reports described entire ecosystems and even bat-like humanoid creatures living there. Thousands of people believed it, the story spread internationally, and the newspaper sold far more copies than usual.
Did you believe any of that at first? If these stories made you laugh, raised an eyebrow, or made you briefly wonder whether spaghetti trees might actually exist, then my workshop is the right place for you. Together we will explore how hoaxes work, why people create them, and how false information spreads. Most importantly, we will discuss how similar techniques are still used today on social media, in politics, and in the newsto influence what people believe.

What is VJ-ing? It’s the art of mixing video live, like a DJ mixes music.
Real-time animation is a new medium at the intersection of animation, VJ performance, theater, and musical improvisation.

We usually think of animation as a finished film. But what if we could create an animated film live, in the moment?
Can animation feel as free as a musical jam? Is there room for improvisation?
In this lab, we’ll explore exactly these questions.

By combining animation, video, and stop motion, we’ll break a story into building blocks — looping actions that we’ll mix live using VJ software.
The result? An animated performance on screen — a live storytelling experience created together through this new visual language.

Join our camp this summer and bring your story to life in real time.
