Case 01: Why are angry rabbits hiding in medieval books? 🐇

In our first Art Detectives investigation, children explore the strange world of medieval marginalia - bizarre creatures, visual jokes, tiny battles and clues hidden in the edges of manuscripts.

We look closely, build theories, discover the historical context and then create our own medieval creature or scene for the book margin. The session is 90 minutes: 30 min for investigating the artworks and discussing the art history and 1 hour for creative experiments.

What happens in an Art Kid atelier?

Children look closely, ask questions, test materials and develop ideas through making.

At Art Kid, art is a way of thinking through observation, experimentation and creative decision-making. We switch focus from a finished product to the process, because learning lies in the process, and all the fun too.

Some children look at a painting and see a picture. Others immediately start wondering: Why is that there? What happened before this moment? Why did the artist make it look like that?

Art Detectives is for those children. 🔎

This autumn, a small group of 7–11-year-olds will explore art history through investigation, discussion and hands-on making.

They’ll look for visual clues, question first impressions, compare interpretations and experiment with perspective, light, colour, composition and different materials.

Along the way, children practise critical thinking, learn to explain their ideas and become more confident making artistic choices without waiting for someone to tell them the “right” answer.

The first group is planned in English in Luxembourg City, but the priority list is also helping me understand what other families need.

If your child is 6 or 12 and especially curious about art, please still fill in the form. Depending on interest and group composition, I may be able to adapt the programme or create another suitable option.

And if French or Russian would work better for your child, tell me that too. If there is enough demand, additional language groups may open.

The priority list is free, there’s no commitment to register, and families on it will receive first access to registration and early-bird pricing.

ART KID is back with great news!

I’ve spent the past months building something I’ve wanted to make for a long time: a course where art history sparkles conversations, questions, hunting for clues, and, of course, practical experiments.

ART DETECTIVES is coming to Luxembourg this autumn.

Expect medieval rabbits, perspective tricks, light and composition studies, fun and memorable history and lots of art making.

Every child has a superpower—kindness, imagination, courage, or the biggest laugh in the room! In this playful workshop, we’ll help kids discover their own unique strengths and turn them into a colorful superhero self-portrait.

Before picking up pencils and paints, we’ll warm up with fun movement games and imagination boosters to get those creative minds flying.

From designing a costume and mask to choosing a superhero name and special power, every child will leave with a portrait that celebrates the hero they already are.

No drawing experience needed—just the courage to create and dream big!
