🌀 My messy Labyrinth 🌀
Α playful workshop for adults!
🌿 This summer, Hehe (Helen & Hector, a creative team from Thessaloniki, Greece), brings to Luxembourg 200kg of clay and many other sensory materials, to offer a unique, hands-on experience that blends art, creative play, mindfulness and inner work.
꩜ Inspired by the ancient Minoan labyrinth, a timeless symbol of transformation and renewal, this workshop invites us to step gently away from the rush, embrace the mess and share a space of stillness while we build something meaningful out of clay - with our hands and the power of community - and then, we deconstruct it again.
Unlike a maze, the labyrinth holds no tricks. It is a spiral that guides us safely to the center. And then — it guides us back out, offering moments of reflection, grounding and gentle emotional release. And this time we will not just walk it. We’ll build it together, with clay, color, texture — and our mindful presence.
🌱 The choice of materials is intentional — an essential part of the experience. Clay is not just a medium; it is the earth itself. Its natural scent and texture engage the senses, grounding us in the present moment and connecting us to something raw and elemental. Creating alongside others fosters a sense of connection, belonging, and shared meaning — all deeply therapeutic in nature.

🌱🐛 What an amazing day at our Very Hungry Caterpillar Sensory Play & Theatrical Play Event! 🦋🍎
Our little adventurers had so much fun exploring the world of textures, shapes, and imagination as they crawled through different sensory stations! From molding clay to scooping pasta, we watched kids discover new ways of learning and playing together. ✨
In this post, we’re featuring one of our favorite sensory stations — the Rice Tray! 🍚
🌾 What did the kids discover?
The rice was perfect for sensory exploration! Little hands scooped, poured, and sifted through the grains, discovering hidden caterpillars and fruit shapes along the way. 🐛🍎
This activity helped develop fine motor skills, as kids practiced their hand-eye coordination while engaging with the tactile material. 🤲
🎭 Theatrical Play:
Before exploring the rice and other materials, the kids acted out the caterpillar’s transformation into a butterfly! They used their imagination to become the characters and bring the story to life. 🦋
Parents loved watching their little one’s express emotions and creativity while they crawled like caterpillars and fluttered around like butterflies. 🎬💕
💬 What did the families discover?
Cognitive Growth: Through the sensory play and storytelling, kids learned about the cycle of life and the process of change — from egg to caterpillar to butterfly. 🌱➡️🦋
Language Skills: As they explored the rice tray, children described textures and shared their excitement, expanding their vocabulary. 🗣️🍓
Social Skills: Working together, sharing materials, and acting out the story helped kids practice teamwork and develop social bonds. 🤝❤️
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this playful, sensory, and educational experience! We can’t wait for the next adventure! 🌈💚
