How do we create spaces that truly nourish the soul and strengthen our bonds of unity? ✨
In our recent Community-Building Book Club (C𐤡BƆ) session, we realized that the "spirit" of a gathering actually begins long before the first person walks through the door. Reflecting on The Art of Gathering, we talked about how the "pre-game" is really a beautiful process of priming our hearts for connection and community.
We discovered that every gathering relies on a social contract: a shared commitment where we aren't just passive attendees, but active co-creators of a mutually supportive space. Part of building that space comes down to naming with purpose. Just like a meaningful name inspires, giving our time together a clear, purposeful title frames our collective intention right from the start.
Creating this environment also means accompanying one another every step of the way: The journey to a gathering starts the moment an invitation is extended. We want to ensure that everyone feels a deep sense of belonging right from that first interaction, especially friends who are joining us for the very first time.
We are all learners on this path of community-building, and we'd love for you to learn alongside us.
👉 Will you join our next consultation? Let’s study, reflect, and act together to make our neighborhoods more vibrant.

The Bahá’í community in Luxembourg is actively engaged in promoting peace, and social cohesion.
Its faith combines deep spiritual development with concrete social engagement. This same spirit is lived by many Bahá’ís in Iran: the desire to contribute to the well-being of society, to build bridges, and to strengthen community. Yet instead of being recognised for this, they have been systematically persecuted for decades.
Time and again, Bahá’ís in Iran are turned into scapegoats in times of crisis. False accusations, state-sponsored hate-speech campaigns, arrests, and the denial of basic rights all follow a well-established pattern.
The case of Peyvand Naimi shows in a deeply disturbing way how dangerous this logic can become: a young Bahá’í who is currently under immense pressure, has been tortured, and, according to reports, has even been subjected to mock executions.

This weekend, around 20 young people gathered in Oberkorn for a unique Youth Camp: a vibrant blend of meaningful conversation, arts, music, great food, and plenty of laughter 🙏🏼 🎶 🌱 🎨
The heart of the camp was an exploration of family life. Together, the group delved into the idea that the family unit is the basic building block of community. They reflected on the concept that "a family is a nation in miniature," meaning the conditions that shape our homes ultimately shape the world around us.
We were also delighted to welcome Sébastian, a systemic psychologist, who joined us to offer a fascinating look at the psychological principles that underpin our family interactions and their broader social influence 🤲🏻

🕊️ Meaningful Afterwork: Why Not Try Peace For A While?
We would love to invite you to our upcoming Meaningful Afterwork on Friday, 23rd January, hosted at the Bahá’í Centre in Luxembourg City.
The Theme: "Why Not Try Peace For A While?"
"2nd August. Germany has declared war on Russia. — Swimming lessons in the afternoon." This was Franz Kafka’s diary entry in 1914, the day the First World War began. It is a poignant reminder of two things: first, that our individual lives continue even amidst global upheaval; and second, that while conflict may have hindered humanity’s journey toward maturity in the past, it by no means determines our future.
Like Kafka, we do not lose our agency during dark or trying times. At this Meaningful Afterwork, we want to explore the lights in our everyday lives that illumine the path to peace. How can we cultivate tranquility and lightness within ourselves and radiate it into the world around us? And even more importantly, how can we become true practitioners of peace in our immediate environments?
We will explore these questions through a series of short, thought-provoking excerpts from the Bahá’í Writings.
To get the conversation started, please join the Young Professionals WhatsApp group and cast your vote in the poll for the peace perspective that resonates with you most.
To join the WhatsApp group you can use the QR-code in this post or the following link: https://chat.whatsapp.com/EH0gSGbYR8MFxu1CvQUEpf
The Details: 📅 Date: Friday, 23rd January ⏰ Time: 6:30pm 📍 Location: 17, Allée Léopold Goebel, Luxembourg City
In case you have further questions, feel free to send us an email ([email protected]) 🙏🏻
Warmly,
Your Meaningful Afterwork Team

Human rights are built in our relationships. 🤝
Today, we join the global community in celebrating International Human Rights Day!
A moment to honor our shared dignity and the promise of a just world. 🌍
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a monumental milestone in humanity's collective effort. Yet, we know that widespread discrimination and oppression still thwart our progress. So, how do we enact Human Rights in our daily reality?
The Baha’i International Community suggests a shift in perspective:
"Human rights achieve their highest expression when understood in the context of human relationships: within the family, the community, the nations and among the community of nations."
When viewed through this lens, safeguarding human rights becomes a daily practice in our own lives. It happens in how we treat our neighbors, how we consult within our families, and how we serve our communities.
Human rights are a vehicle for all to realize their inherent potential and to uphold the dignity of another.
How are you nurturing this potential in your community today?

✨ Illuminating Insights: A Night with Rumi ✨
What an inspiring evening of unity and profound reflection at the recent interfaith event organized by the Centre de formation diocésain Jean XXIII in collaboration with ErwuesseBildung, Interfaith - Run for a United World asbl, AGIR-ASBL and Bahá'í Lëtzebuerg.
The evening focused on the timeless wisdom of Rumi! We were delighted to welcome up to 40 participants from diverse backgrounds, all gathered to explore the life and mystical poetry of this revered scholar.
💡 The Shared Light of Truth
A brilliant presentation by a Dr. Dr. theolog. Michael Gmelch unpacked Rumi’s enduring message. One of the many touching moments came from recognizing the deep harmony between Rumi's thought and the principles of the Baháʼí Faith.
When reflecting on Rumi's beautiful metaphor:
"The lamps are different, but the Light is the same."
Dr. Gmlech highlighted that this universal truth was echoed in the words of 'Abdu'l-Bahá:
"Man must be a lover of the light, no matter from what dayspring it may appear. He must be a lover of the rose, no matter in what soil it may be growing. He must be a seeker of the truth, no matter from what source it come."
This synergy reminds us that divine truth is one. 🌍🤝
🎶 A Journey through Music and Movement
The atmosphere was deeply enriched by the enchanting talents of three musicians playing the Sufi Ney flute. Their music was a soulful thread weaving through the presentations. Participants were also privileged to witness a live Sufi dance, a dance which is for Sufis a prayer, a form of communication which links the human being with its creator. 🙏
Thank you to all the faith-based organizations who helped bring this enriching experience to life! May we continue to seek and celebrate the one Light that shines through all lamps.
