Study Engage Travel is the motto of the Miami University John E. Dolibois Center in Luxembourg (MUDEC).

MUDEC celebrated our 55th anniversary in the fall of 2023, making it one of the oldest and well established study abroad programs in the United States. It enjoys the support of a wide range of local and international experts and officials. Former ambassadors and business leaders regularly teach courses, and Miami faculty also teach several European-focused courses each semester. About 80% of the f

aculty are European-based and 20% come from the Oxford, Hamilton, and Middletown campuses. Because the program enrolls 120-150 students per semester and up to 40 in the summer workshop, students develop close ties with one another, whether they are from Miami or from another university. The Miami University Dolibois European Center is truly an exceptional study abroad program that is often noted as the highlight of students’ collegiate experience. Consider spending a semester, academic year, or summer in Luxembourg, and discover Miami’s best-kept secret for yourself.

It’s been an exciting couple of days here at MUDEC! 🇱🇺♥️

We welcomed the Fall 2026 students to the Luxembourg airport on Wednesday (amidst lots of flight delays, lost luggage, and even canceled flights) and then had two successful days of orientation!

Some stunning Luxembourg castles captured on FUJIFILM 📸🏰🇱🇺

Luxembourg has over 70 castles! Each castle has its own rich history, like the castle of Vianden which was built between the 11th and 14th centuries on the foundations of an old Roman fort. It was fully restored in the late 20th century.

Turelbaach castle was built single-handedly by a man named Pol Gilson. Its original wooden cabin burnt down in 1973, but was rebuilt in its now beautiful stone over 30 years.

Hello!! I’m Claire Weston, and I’ll be the new student activities coordinator! I’m from Louisville, Ohio and graduated from Miami this spring with a double major in journalism and psychology.

At Miami, I wrote for UP Magazine and The Miami Student Newspaper. I was also a resident assistant for three years and interned with Cincinnati Magazine this spring. This summer I spent two months working and living on a farm in Kauai, Hawaii.

I came to MUDEC in the spring of 2025, during of which I interned for C.S.L. Magazine, went to 16 countries, and did a two week solo trip! It was truly the best semester of my life 😊

I’m so excited to be here and I can’t wait to meet all the incoming MUDEC students! ❤️🇱🇺
