EAVE is proud to support Main Character, ARTEF's new pan-European search for unproduced feature fiction screenplays.

Developed from ARTEF's 2026 Think Tank Report on the European film value chain, the initiative invites writers of all backgrounds and experience levels to submit original screenplays offering European perspectives missing from the screen.

Submissions are anonymous at every stage, with twelve projects to be selected and announced at the 2027 Göteborg International Film Festival.
The first round closes on 21 September 2026.

🏆Short Award: €2,500 + €7,500 production grant, sponsored by Forchhammer Stiftung

Open to citizens of any EU member state. EUROPIA is looking for stories exploring European identity, history, the EU and its institutions — projects that move beyond national narratives and imagine positive, integrated futures for Europe. Multilingual projects are especially encouraged.

Submission requirements:
🎥Feature: 2–3 page exposé, logline, director's note with bio/filmography.
🎞️Short: screenplay, logline, director's note with bio/filmography.

Production must not yet have commenced. Materials may be submitted in any language, accompanied by an English translation.

👏It's time for the world premiere of EGO REACH WE ALL by Amartei Armar at the Locarno Film Festival!
Produced by EAVE graduate Ike Yemoh from A.K.A Entertainment, Ghana.

The project was developed at the EAVE Producers Workshop in 2023.

🎬Two orphans, Owusu and Adobea, brave the Ghanaian countryside, with one quest in mind: to find their last legitimate parent who would be able to bring back their identities. Arriving in Accra's tumultuous urban landscape, they meet the Jackals, a gang of young people left on their own, living through locks and thefts. Their quest is turned upside down.
