• Establish a Fashion Museum in Lithuania;
• to preserve and enrich the foundations of the costumes and accessories,

paintings, graphics, photography, decorative applied arts, printed publications, etc.

Weddings in a Young City (1960–1980)
The exhibition in Visaginas presents a collection of wedding dresses from 1960 to 1980, offering a glimpse into the changing fashion, silhouettes and aesthetic ideals of those decades.

Each dress reflects the style of its time — from the elegant simplicity of the 1960s to the distinctive shapes and details of the 1970s. Yet these garments are more than fashion objects: they carry personal memories and emotions.

For many women today, seeing these dresses is a nostalgic and deeply touching experience — a chance to remember their own wedding day, the dress they once wore, and the dreams and hopes of their youth.

The exhibition also presents the visionary work of Yves Saint Laurent, one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. Through the fashion house Yves Saint Laurent, he redefined modern elegance by introducing elements of menswear into women’s fashion, including the iconic tuxedo suit Le Smoking. Dedicated to Victorian fashion, the exhibition explores the elegance and grandeur of the crinoline era. Crinolines, the iconic wide skirt structures of the mid-19th century, transformed women’s silhouettes and became a symbol of refinement, social status, and femininity. Supported by lightweight cage-like frames, these spectacular garments allowed skirts to reach impressive proportions while offering greater freedom of movement than the many layers of petticoats previously worn. Today, crinolines remain one of the most recognizable and fascinating symbols of Victorian fashion.

We are delighted to invite visitors to the exhibition at Burbiškis Manor, Lithuania, dedicated to the leisure activities, traditions, and everyday pleasures of manor life.

The exhibition explores how women spent their free time during long winter evenings, engaging in embroidery, weaving, knitting, and crochet. These handcrafted creations not only reflected remarkable skill and creativity but were also used to decorate homes and adorn children’s clothing.

Visitors will also discover the fashions and accessories worn on various occasions throughout the year—from christenings, name-day celebrations, and weddings to travel and leisurely walks through parks and gardens. Through garments, accessories, and decorative objects, the exhibition reveals the elegance, customs, and social life that shaped the world of the manor.
