📚 This online workshop (May 25–June 5) will train YES and FLEX alumni to lead engaging English conversation clubs, strengthen teaching skills, and use AI tools for lesson planning — all while sharing American culture.

Have you successfully completed the FLEX program and are ready to take on a leadership role in your city or university? We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to serve as City/University Representatives (CRs/URs)!

As a CR/UR, you will take an active role in initiating and guiding alumni activities and community projects in your city or university, while also gaining hands-on experience in event planning, project coordination, and community engagement. This will contribute both to your personal development and your professional growth.

As summer comes to an end, FLEX Alumni Lithuania invites all alumni to a picnic at Bernardine Garden, Vilnius. It will take place on Friday, August 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. (feel free to join at any time).

This will be a great opportunity to network, catch up with fellow alumni from different generations, and enjoy a pleasant Friday afternoon in nature. There will be snacks, pizzas, card games, and the FLEX Alumni photo album. The event is for FLEX Alumni only.

What’s better than celebrating Christmas or the FLEX Anniversary? Bringing them together for an unforgettable FLEX Alumni Party!

🎄 On December 21, 31 alumni from 6 different generations came together to celebrate the FLEX 30th Anniversary Christmas Party, co-organized by the Program Officer Emilija Valancauskaite and Alumni Coordinator Kipras Bielozarevicius.

✨ Upon arriving, alumni had a chance to mark their host communities by placing pins on a U.S. map, sparking nostalgic memories of their exchange experiences.

🎅 The festivities began with Christmas Olympics, a series of fun and competitive events that tested alumni’s holiday knowledge and skills in both practical and theoretical ways. Participants engaged in activities such as a Christmas quiz, mandarin peeling, zephyr eating, candy cane throwing, and blindfolded snowman drawing. However, the highlight of the Olympics was the Ugly Sweater Competition, where alumni showcased their most creative and festive attire.

⛸️ The celebration continued with an ice-skating session in Vilnius Old Town, bringing everyone together in the festive atmosphere of the season.

✨ To wrap up, American Councils staff reflected on the year’s successes and celebrated the achievements of alumni who have made outstanding contributions as community volunteers and program promoters. 🌟 Finally, the event was ceremonially closed by eating the FLEX 30th Anniversary cake.

🎉 We are thrilled to announce that Siauliai City Representative Saule Simonyte ’24 has been nominated FLEX City Representative of the Month for November 2024! 🎉

In her first three months in the position, Saule demonstrated creativity and a deep passion for volunteering by organizing initiatives and projects which bridged cultures and connected different parts of the community. In October Saule organized a unique U.S trivia event for the senior citizens at the Siauliai City Senior Living Facility and in November Saule introduced Siauliai to Thanksgiving traditions by cooking cookies and adding informative notes about Thanksgiving and distributing them in the streets of Siauliai. Furthermore, during the FLEX promotion season she showed incredible dedication by going above and beyond and making 9 presentations in 4 different schools.

Thank you, Saule, for your dedication and exceptional leadership! You continue to inspire us, and we could not be prouder of all that you have accomplished!💙

This year, we would like to come together to bring joy to children in need at Children and Youth Daycare Center in Nemencine, Vilnius district, by 🎁 gifting shoe box-sized presents filled with thoughtful items.

Important Note:
A social worker has emphasized that the children mainly need toiletries and hygiene products. Please prioritize these items in your gift boxes.

About the Children:
- Boys (ages 7-16)
- Girls (ages 9-17)

When preparing your gift, please clearly label the box with the gender and age group it is suitable for to ensure proper distribution.

How to Participate:
1. Write us a text message via social media or email [email protected] to confirm participation and organize logistics
2. Pack the box: Use a standard shoe box and pack it with your selected items.
3. Delivery Options:
- You can either bring the box to our office in Vilnius, our city representative in your city or send it by post.
- If you choose to send it, the postage costs will be covered.

Please ensure the gift boxes are delivered to us by December 21st🗓️. After collecting the gifts, we will deliver them to the children at the center following the alumni Christmas party, where the gifts will be gathered and organized.

🎉We are excited to announce that Kipras Bielozarevicius ‘22 has been named as the FLEX Alumni Coordinator of the Month for October 2024!

In his first few months, as the Alumni Coordinator, Kipras worked tirelessly to support and foster FLEX Alumni Lithuania community by organizing community connecting events, expanding partnerships and growing volunteer network.

Kipras shares:

“It is a great honor to receive this recognition. While the first few months came with their challenges, I have grown to deeply appreciate this role, which empowers me to strengthen connections and make a meaningful impact. I am grateful to work with FLEX Alumni Lithuania community and CR/UR network who are the driving force of progress. I also wanted to thank my supervisor Emilija and mentor Karina, who helped me in my professional development and allowed me to easily transition into my new role.”

🎉 We are thrilled to announce that Kaunas City Representative Ajsel Mammadovaite’24 has been nominated FLEX City Representative of the Month for October 2024! 🎉

In just her first months in the position, Ajsel has demonstrated incredible dedication and creativity. She is an excellent volunteer who makes a meaningful impact on the community by creating opportunities for learning and connections through her initiatives. In October Ajsel went above and beyond by organising and collaborating on two events: an 🌿Ecology Workshop for Children🌿 and a creative 🎃Halloween🎃 celebration in the city center, both of which engaged different parts of the Kaunas community.
