Meet Tadiwanashe Mkonto – an engineer from Zimbabwe, who recently received a BA degree in Mechatronics at KTU Kauno technologijos universitetas/Kaunas University of Technology🚀

His passion for innovation is driven by a desire to solve real-world problems affecting local communities. Together with his team, he developed a search and rescue buoy drone that earned Technorama 2025's Rector's Prize – a project designed to help save people from drowning.

He plans to continue his journey with KTU, studying a master’s in Mechatronics, and with that – to continue to delve deeper into drone technology.

"I'm not yet the engineer I want to be," says the student. "But every project teaches me something new and brings me one step closer."

With the skills she gained while enrolled in the Multimedia and Computer Design study programme, she landed an internship at Platige – one of the most renowned gaming visual effects studios in Poland, which has created animations for games like The Witcher 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
