EAA Vilnius 2016

We would like to thank all the organizers, sponsors, presenters, participants and volunteers for making the 22nd Annual Meeting in Vilnius a great success! We wish you fun excursions in Lithuania and a safe trip home! The time has come to pass on the baton to our colleagues in Maastricht. We look forward to meeting you all in the Netherlands for the 23rd Annual Meeting of the EAA :)

We hope you are enjoying the last presentations of the conference! For those who have reserved seats for the Annual Dinner tonight, we ask to arrive before 19.00/7PM to the Presidential Square located next to the University. The buses leave at 19.00/7PM sharp! Please do not forget to bring your tickets :)

Alas, it has arrived, the last day of the 22nd EAA. We would like to remind you that you can buy EAA 2016 memorabilia from the Registration Desk, including these cute pendants and earrings. Also, you still have an opportunity to purchase publications in the Exhibition Hall: International on 1st floor and Lithuanian on 2nd floor.

The scientific program will end earlier today, at 16.00, but if you don't want to call it a night, there is plenty to do in the evening:

1) MERC Party at "Vienuolio" Pub beginning 19.00 (remember to bring your tickets!)
2) CIfA Reception at the University Cafe beginning 18.30 (by invitation only)
3) The Toy Museum, the National Museum and the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania are all open until 18.00 today (you should enter by 17.00)
4) Visit some of our wonderful restaurants, cafes, bars and shops

Some photos from the Opening Ceremony (31.08.2016), which was held in the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. We would like to remind you that entrance to the museum is free with the EAA badge until the end of the conference.

The first day of the scientific program is coming to a close, but we invite all of you to join us at 19.00 for the Opening Ceremony of the new exhibit "Recent Discoveries of Lithuanian Archaeology" taking place in the Bastion of Vilnius Defensive Wall, which is part of the National Museum of Lithuania. If you cannot come to the opening tonight, you are more than welcome to visit the museum free of charge until the end of the conference. Other museums offering free admission to EAA 2016 participants include the Toy Museum, the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and the Campanile of St. John's Church. Remember to bring your conference badges :)

Complimentary coffee, tea and water is offered daily from 11 to 11.30 and again from 16 to 16.30. To find the nearest coffee station to you, go to the rooms indicated with a 'coffee cup' sign on the university maps inside your program books. Enjoy!

Good morning! First, we would like to thank everyone who attended the Opening Ceremony last night! Secondly, we would like to remind you that the registration desk is open from 8.30 and the scientific program will start at 9.00. There will be staff members in all faculties to assist you with finding session rooms, coffee break areas and more. Do not hesitate to ask for help.

We wish you all a wonderful beginning of the 22nd EAA here in Lithuania, the geographic center of Europe!

Registration has closed for today, but we look forward to seeing you all at the Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception beginning at 18.00 in the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. The event is free for participants, but remember to wear your badges!
