Welcome to Module 3 of Airhub Training's Cabin Crew Initial Training program!
Did you know that in the early days of aviation, cabin crews used to carry onboard a supply of spare eyeglasses? This was because the high altitude and pressure changes could cause passengers' eyeglasses to break or become uncomfortable, ensuring a more comfortable journey for travelers.
While aviation has evolved and the processes have become smoother, they remain nonetheless exciting. Now, as we delve into Module 3, we'll focus on the core responsibilities of cabin crew, which include Passenger Handling and Cabin Surveillance.
In this module, you will:
🟫Differentiate between passenger categories and manage seat allocation and restrictions;
🟫Learn to recognize and manage aggressive passengers;
🟫Handle live animals in the cabin safely;
🟫Master the safe stowage of cabin baggage and service items;
🟫 Discover methods to motivate passengers and control crowds.

✈️ When it comes to air travel, fear of flying can be a significant hurdle for many passengers. However, what usually makes the difference is reassuring presence and expertise of flight attendants who play a crucial role in ensuring safety and comfort.
After going through extensive psychological training and gaining in-depth knowledge of aircraft systems, flight attendants are skilled at providing emotional support. We asked a couple of flight attendants to share their tips on how to take control of your fear during the flight:
🟤 Identify the Source of Your Fear. If engine sounds make you anxious, consider using headphones and listening to music. If height is the issue, lower your window shade and immerse yourself in a movie. If unfamiliar surroundings trigger your anxiety, simply bring along your favorite slippers, an inflatable travel pillow, and create a sense of comfort.
🟤 Choose the Right Seat. Understanding the reasons behind your fear can guide you in choosing the most suitable seat. For example, if turbulence is your main concern, opting for a seat closer to the front where vibrations are milder might provide a sense of calmness.
🟤 Share Your Thoughts with Cabin Crew. Open communication is key in the flight, and it helps to protect yourself from unwanted consequences. For example, if you have claustrophobia or anxiety, cabin crew members will help you with suitable relaxation methods such as breathing exercises and mindfulness techniques.
🟤 Avoid Alcohol and Medication. While it might be tempting to rely on alcohol or drugs to reduce anxiety, these methods can have adverse effects such as intoxications. It may slow down your reaction or cause excessive drowsiness, posing risks in emergency situations. Instead, one should focus on engaging in enjoyable activities during the flight.
At Airhub Training, we prepare flight attendants through our comprehensive Cabin Crew Initial Training program. This program consists of 9 modules that cover a range of topics, including effective communication with passengers, in-depth knowledge of aviation, aircraft operations, safety protocols, and much more.
