"An easy decision for the future of Vilnius."

Hear from Vilnius Mayor Valdas Benkunskas on why supporting the American International School of Vilnius with a 99-year lease agreement extension is a major win for the city’s educational landscape and its growing international community.

As Vilnius continues to thrive as a modern, open, and forward-thinking European capital, partnerships like this reinforce our commitment to world-class education and long-term investment.

Yesterday, the American International School of Vilnius marked a significant milestone with a ceremony celebrating 99 years forward - the extension of our lease agreement.

The event was honored by the presence of the Speaker of the Seimas Juozas Olekas, who presented a verbal note to AISV Director Dr. Amanda Sunderman, alongside Vilnius Mayor .benkunskas and U.S. Ambassador Kara C. McDonald.

This paves the way for high-value, long-term investments in our infrastructure, beginning with a first-phase campus reconstruction next year. As a non-profit organization successfully operating for 33 years, AISV remains dedicated to providing top-tier, accredited international education.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the celebration!

Nuoširdus ačiū! 🧡

Didelis ir šiltas ačiū vaikučiams iš Tarptautinės Amerikos mokyklos Vilniuje, kurie pardavinėdami limonadus ir sausainius surinko net 400 € mūsų uodegytėms! 😮

Jūsų gerumas, iniciatyva ir noras padėti yra be galo brangūs. Ačiū, kad mokote mus visus, jog net maži darbai gali virsti didele pagalba. 🐶🐱

At American International School of Vilnius, we believe science becomes most meaningful when students can connect it to the real world around them.

As part of a science research and model-building project designed by our science teacher, Doctor Vaida, Grade 6 students explored the lives and achievements of influential scientists and innovators. Alongside globally known figures such as Albert Einstein and Marie Curie, students also had the opportunity to discover outstanding Lithuanian innovators shaping science and technology today.

One student, Tadas, became deeply engaged while researching the Vizbaras brothers and Lithuanian laser technology. What began as a classroom assignment quickly turned into something much bigger. Through curiosity, persistence, and creativity, Tadas continued developing his research and building detailed models inspired by the technologies he was studying.

After seeing his work, the team at BROLIS Semiconductors invited Tadas to visit their company and meet the Vizbaras brothers in person. During the visit, he had the opportunity to learn more about advanced technologies, innovation, and the journey behind one of Lithuania’s leading high-tech companies.

Experiences like this remind us how powerful education can be when learning extends beyond the classroom. We are proud of Tadas for his curiosity and dedication, and grateful to his family and the team at BROLIS Semiconductors for supporting a young learner’s passion for science.

Sometimes a school project becomes much more than an assignment. Sometimes it becomes inspiration.
