Debate Society in Mykolas Romeris University is an independent student society established in 2001, which acts under the principles of the Debate Center of Lithuania, International Debate Education Association and on the behalf of MRU Student Associations rules as well as the Statute of MRU. One of the major tasks facing Lithuania at present is the creation of an open, democratic society. Therefore, we state our mission as a pledge that, through debates, we can help the younger generation of Lithuania to become socially-aware citizens, involved in dealing with the problems facing their native country and the world, creating an active and positive attitude in finding solutions for a better future.
