Asmenybės tobulėjimo ir anglų kalbos studija
If I were to sum up the most important thing I learned during the 2026 season at the Self Improvement and English studio in THREE WORDS, I would say that LANGUAGE IS POWERFUL🤩
🗣️ Language enables people to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, which can move, inspire, and influence other people.
It is fascinating to see why people think a certain way and defend their position. During a lesson about Australia 🇦🇺, I had a chance hear about Matejus, Aras, Augustinas, Atėnė, and Nojus’ favorite animals while drawing. Through attentive listening and follow-up questions, we learned a little more about each other and some interesting facts about the animals living in our planet 🌍
👥 I have also seen people change others’ minds and have their own perspectives challenged through dialogue. Challenging and being challenged are crucial in developing critical thinking skills that we need today. In a lesson with Augustas, Arijus, and Jogaila, we discussed the pros and cons of social media. When we were mostly stating its harmful effects, Solveiga told the group, “You wouldn’t be using social media if it didn’t give you any benefits,” which helped me shift my perspective about social media.
Through my experience, I learned the importance of language learning as it opens up more opportunities to expand one’s knowledge and understanding of the world around them. However, language learning also comes with CHALLENGES 🎯
One of the most common barriers to making progress I have seen is staying quiet 🤐 Some students choose to speak minimally for different reasons: lack of self confidence, feeling shy, fear of making mistakes, etc.
In response, I do my best to establish a good relationship with students, build trust, and create an environment where they can freely practice without fear of judgment, especially in regular individual lessons. As each individual is different, I do my best to adjust my approach to teaching based on their needs. Some need more encouragement, while others respond better to correction. At the end of the day, my greatest achievement is having a student feel comfortable enough to freely communicate even if they don’t speak perfect English. For me, what matters most is that students build the confidence to speak their minds and have the resilience to try and try until they succeed.
Never stop trying and never stop learning!
