A reflection on KTU from Prof. Stefano Maffei, Politecnico di Milano . In his words, Lithuania brings together technical rigour, openness and ambition — a context where circular and design-driven innovation are taken seriously and pursued with energy.

These are the kinds of international exchanges that also shape the learning environment of MA Design for Sustainable Future at KTU.

🔵What we call waste can also be an opportunity.

Bio-waste, industrial leftovers, discarded materials — each reveals something about systems, value, use, and transformation.

In design research, materials are not understood merely as matter or physical substances. Through the lens of new materiality, materials are seen as active participants in shaping relationships, practices, and futures.

At KTU's MA Design for Sustainable Future, students explore how materials, systems thinking, and responsibility come together in design practice.

Designers, innovators, and curious thinkers — bring your questions here.

🟡Tarptautinio projekto COLAB dirbtuvės Islandijoje

Liepos 9 d. Islandijoje, Hólmavík / Strandir regione, vyks viešos biomedžiagų dizaino dirbtuvės, kurias ves VDA atstovės Austėja Platūkytė ir Evelina Kudabaitė.

Dirbtuvės yra tarptautinio projekto COLAB: Coastal Laboratories Connecting People and Nature dalis. Projektas jungia partnerius iš Islandijos, Lietuvos ir Lenkijos bei tyrinėja, kaip dizainas, vietos žinios ir gamtiniai ištekliai gali prisidėti prie tvaresnių vietos bendruomenių.
