VITA Project

The 2nd Transnational Partner Meeting where VITA partners could meet in person was held in Lleida, Spain, on June 15 and 16, hosted by IET. Every partner organization was represented, though some delegates were only able to participate in the event online.

The aims of the 2nd TPM were:

- Overviewing the significant progress in WP2 activities: collaborative development of interactive learning MLCs by using ChatGPT Codex;
- Agreement of the deadlines of completing AND closing (summary, newsletter 2, evaluation) WP2;
- Planning WP3 activities;
- Discussions and agreements on accompanying activities (PM, QM, Dissemination, Reporting).
The meeting went on in a constructive and collaborational way and collegial manner, where all the important achievements were discussed, progress so far was overviewed, and upcoming activities and partners' responsibilities as well as the deadlines were negotiated.

In March 2026, the European Commission published an updated version of its Guidelines on the Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence in Education. The document is more than just an updated supplement to the previous 2022 version: it signals a shift in perspective. As teachers and school leaders, it is important for us to understand what this means for our everyday digital practices.

Are VET Teachers Ready for AI❓ Key Findings from VITA

The first result of the VITA project is presented in the report “Foundations for Developing AI-Powered Course Curriculum for Vocational Teachers.” The document outlines the conclusions of a comprehensive needs analysis, including SELFIE self-assessment and workshops involving teachers and industry stakeholders.

The survey with 94 teachers from the 4 EU countries showed that most teachers of the partner schools are at an early stage of AI adoption, with the majority classified as “Newcomers” or “Explorers,” meaning they have limited practical experience and lack confidence in integrating AI into teaching. At the same time, a smaller but significant group of teachers already demonstrates intermediate competence, providing a foundation for peer learning and mentoring.

The report highlights the key strengths and gaps: teachers are relatively more confident in using AI for creating digital learning materials, but struggle to apply it in classroom teaching and especially in assessment, where both methodological and ethical concerns are strong. These results provide a solid foundation for the next phases of the project, namely the curriculum design and the development of a comprehensive set of microlearning contents for the planned VITA course.

Today, we held an online partner meeting to discuss the next important phase of the project. The meeting focused on work packages A3 and A4, which concentrate on planning the curriculum and content development phase.

During the meeting, we reviewed:
• the steps of the development process
• the tasks and responsibilities of the partners
• upcoming milestones and deadlines

In the coming period, the consortium will work on developing micro-content for the selected sectors, which will support training in the form of flexible, short learning units.

We are excited about the next steps and the results of our joint work! 🚀

Last Friday, we successfully held our online VITA project meeting, where we reviewed the results so far and agreed on the next steps for WP1 and WP2.

The workshop organized as part of the VITA project aims to map teachers' learning needs and preferences regarding the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into teaching practice. Kick-off meeting 18-19. November 2025. in Alytus, Lithuania

Boglárka Dévai and Helén Hegedüs will represent our institution at the official launch meeting of the VITA project in Alytus, Lithuania.
During the discussions, consultations and agreements will be made regarding the following work packages:
