La Guardia and Huelma showcase the findings of the RAÍZ Jaén project
Institutional representatives, academic staff and students from the Universidad de Jaén have presented the findings that will contribute to the development of future local urban agendas.
The municipalities of La Guardia and Huelma hosted the presentation of the assessments carried out as part of the RAÍZ Jaén project, an initiative promoted by the Provincial Council of Jaén and the University of Jaén through the NEOLAiA European University Alliance and the Fundación Estrategias.
During the sessions, university students presented the results of the plans they had developed for participating municipalities. Their work will support the preparation of local urban agendas for eleven municipalities across the province. The project promotes a more sustainable, participatory approach to local development by strengthening collaboration between public authorities, the university and local communities.
The events were attended by Lourdes Martínez, Member of the Regional Parliament responsible for European Funds and Geolit; Beatriz Valverde, NEOLAiA Coordinator and Director of the European Universities Secretariat at the University of Jaén; representatives of La Guardia Town Council; and the Mayor of Huelma, Ana María Guzmán. Academic tutors Cristina Martínez and Noelia Ruiz, University of Jaén students Elizaveta Zhukova and Miguel Ramírez, and municipal tutors José Miguel Jiménez and Bernardo Guzmán also took part in the presentations.
Through initiatives such as RAÍZ Jaén, NEOLAiA continues to strengthen collaboration between higher education institutions, public authorities and regional communities, contributing to sustainable development and creating meaningful learning opportunities for students.
