The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), in collaboration with the Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA), hosted an artificial intelligence and cybersecurity awareness workshop for the NUL Secretary cadre yesterday at the Roma campus.

The CTL Director, Dr. 'Malineo Matsela and the LCA Cybersecurity Manager Mr. Tumane Mahloane officially opened the workshop. They both highlighted that the workshop is timely, given the revalance of phishing attacks in higher education and the importance of collaboration in improving cyber hygiene in Lesotho.

Facilitators from LCA presented on the anatomy of phishing attacks, steps to identify phishing emails, as well as the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in combating cybersecurity attacks.

Facilitators from CTL presented on the ethical use of AI in improving customer service for internal and external customers.
