Re: SUSPENSION OF ELECTIONS

The above matter bears reference.

This is to inform the Student Union and Prospective Nominees that the 2021/2022 Student Representative Council (SRC) General Elections dated on the 11th to the 12th January 2022 has been suspended with immediate effect.

This decision was taken in light of the unlawful notice the Director Student Affairs posted on the Thuto DSA platform that was posted on the 20th December 2021 that the SRC GENERAL ELECTIONS of 2021/2022 were "currently on hold."

This unlawful decision by the Director Student Affairs has hindered the Democratic Process of Elections.

The Vice Chancellor also has, after a request by the Electoral College to intervene by ordering the DSA to remove the post to withheld elections as The Director Student Affairs has no jurisdiction to stop or put elections "on hold", not responded to the Electoral College up to date.

The School Management is evidently determined to disregard the decisions of the Student's Representative Council Executive to not allow the Legal Democratic Process of Elections.

This has left us with no option but to suspend the 2021/2022 SRC GENERAL ELECTIONS until further notice.

Re: Calling of 2021/2022 SRC GENERAL ELECTION

The above matter bears reference.

This is to officially inform the Student Union that on the 29th November 2021, the SRC Executive, in terms of article 13.1 of the SU Constitution formally called for the 2021/2022 SRC General Elections for the SRC EXECUTIVE and CAMPUS GOVERNMENTS.

The Electoral College shall abide and herein confirms the aforementioned call for Elections.
