On the 2nd May 2025, PAPSA held a closing ceremony at the Trading post Lodge.
The event was heartwarming and fun. Then in the following week, PAPSA members received their certificates for being honorary members of PAPSA.
As we come to the end of the acadmic year 2024/205, as another remarkable year, PAPSA would love to take a moment to express its deepest gratitude to each of its astute members. Your dedication, passion, and teamwork have made this year truly special.
To the members—thank you for your unwavering commitment. To the leaders—your hard work has been the backbone of association's success. To the Alumnis and all who supported PAPSA in this journey, thank you for your support and insightful wisdom to the growing of the association.
As we reflect on this year’s achievements, let’s carry this momentum forward. May the coming year bring even greater collaboration, innovation, and success for PAPSA
Before we sign off, let’s celebrate one another with a virtual round of applause! Wishing you all the best in your exams and a joyous restful break. Stay connected, stay inspired, and we’ll see you in the new academic year!

PAPSA Seminar Recap:
Theme:A discussion on the land issue between South Africa and Lesotho
All politics is local. Political success depends on addressing local, everyday concerns rather than abstract national issues and that is exactly what the seminar was about- addressing local issues.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made our recent seminar on land reclamation issue a success! The discussions were eye-opening, informative, and shed light on the political and social impacts of this critical issue.
Special Thanks To:
- Our esteemed guests such as the former NUL registrar, and an advocate from Johannesburg for sharing their expertise and insights.
- Our brilliant panelist: MP Mr Montoeli Masoetsa, Adv Borena Sekonyela and Prof Carol Chi Ngang -to give a legal base for this issue, for engaging in dynamic discussions.
- All the students and attendees who participated actively—your questions and contributions made the event even more meaningful!
''It is impossible for Lesotho to reclaim Land'' MP Mr Masoetsa
'''Reclaiming the Basutoland is not far , it is near'' Adv. Sekonyela
'' The only way for Basutoland reclamation is either by war or negotiations ''Prof Chi Ngung.
These were on of the most thought provoking statements including that of Adv. Sekonyela where he claimed to the audience that Lesotho and Basutoland are two different entities which must be separated. This was one of the most thought-provoking statements.
This seminar wouldn’t have been possible without your support! Let’s continue being mindful as citizens of Lesotho and students of higher learning of the local political landscape.

NOTICE NOTICE!!!
UNJUST SUSPENSION: SRC VIOLATES THE CONSTITUTION!
Dear PAS staff, students and Alumini
We are outraged to inform you that PAPSA has been suspended by the individuals in a manner that blatantly violates the constitution. This decision is not only unfair but also undermines the principles of justice, democracy, transparency, and accountability that our institution claims to uphold.
In line with PAPSA constitution section 3 article(1)-To represent the interests and collective opinion of PAPSA students , article (3) To be the official link between its members, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the National University of Lesotho community and external bodies and article (7) Whenever the need arises, the association shall publicise its stance on any political or administrative matters without displaying any political bias or affiliation. PAPSA Sent a letter to the SRC asking them to call for the elections. PAPSA also had a meeting with the Vice Chancellor to address this illegal act by the SRC.
This was after seeing the individual's unconstitutional action which undermines chapter 5, article 13.1 of the National University of Lesotho SU constitution which states that the SRC Executive shall call for General Elections for the SRC Executive and the Campus Governments within twenty one (21) days after the arrival date of returning students of the last campus to open that academic year. This suspension is a direct attack on our efforts and it threatens the rights of all student groups. . We cannot let this injustice stand. Our crucial voice is in holding these individuals accountable and ensuring that the constitution is respected.
We are taking all necessary steps to challenge this unconstitutional decision, including seeking legal advice, and engaging with relevant stakeholders. We will not rest until justice is served.
Thank you for standing with us in this fight for fairness and accountability. Together, we can ensure that the constitution is upheld and that PAPSA continues to thrive.

"Laughter is the best diplomacy''
In line with the aims of the PAPSA constitution
Section 3 article 2- To organise extra-curricular activities for the collective benefit of its members and article 6-To facilitate the discussion of National and International political
issues between members of the association or any other party.
This week’s Parliamentary debate was anything but boring! From witty comebacks to hilarious analogies, our leaders showed us that politics can be both serious and entertaining.
The debate consisted of ministry of health , education, tourism and youth. The purpose was to explore the pros and cons of each policy and encourage informed discussions.
Who said debates have to be dull? 😂 Let’s just say, this session proved that even in the heat of discussion, there’s always room for a good laugh! 🙌
What’s your favorite funny moment from the Parliamentary debate? Share your thoughts in the comment section

On the 8th Februrary 2025, NUL PAPSA together with NULSOCA and NULCSA took a step to being the change in the world by organizing a charity event as part of phase 2 reconciliation with roma community and NUL students. The charity event was held at Leratong Community Center Mangopeng Roma
We learned so much including the history of Leratong Community Center. Leratong offers formal education and gives children a space for them to be as playful as possible without any burdens.
One of the most thought provoking teachings was the knowledge that many children are exposed to soo many things from the outside world. Sena sere rutile h**e Leratong e thusitse haholo ho hleka bohlasoa kaho fa bana sebaka seo ba ka bapalang.
With that we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support shown at our recent charity event. Thank you to the volunteers, donors, and attendees. Your generosity and dedication made the day truly special and eventful. We couldn't have done it without you!
We had such a wonderful and energizing time with the children and we would love to thank our MAJOR stakeholder, Leratong Community Center for giving us this opportunity to be part of the change. Re leboha haholo.
