Machabeng College represented at a conference in Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC)

Mr Magombedze (our deputy head of school) and Mr Lesenyeho (our physics teacher and energy team leader) attended energy Enlit Africa Conference and Artificial Intelligence and Energy Workshop at CTICC. This positions Machabeng College as a forward‑thinking school that is actively transforming its energy landscape from traditional, wasteful practices to innovative, data‑driven renewable energy solutions, fully aligned with its strategic plan and long‑term sustainability vision.

These platforms expose the school to cutting‑edge ideas in smart grids, digitalization, and artificial intelligence in the energy sector, helping Machabeng move beyond simply “paying the electricity bill” toward managing energy as a strategic resource that supports teaching, learning, and community leadership, foster collaboration and partnership. By engaging with global and regional energy experts, the school gains access to best practices in integrating solar power, improving efficiency, and planning future‑ready infrastructure, which directly supports its goals of reducing costs, lowering its carbon footprint, and becoming a model green campus for Lesotho and the region.
