π’π­πšπ€πžπ‘π¨π₯𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 π•πšπ₯𝐒𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐚π₯ 𝐌𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐒𝐚π₯𝐬 π…π«πšπ¦πžπ°π¨π«π€

CHE and MOET together with key stakeholders validated the Draft Framework for Microcredentials in a workshop in Maseru on 31st August. The approval process will now follow, once the framework has been approved it will be implemented by various providers including higher education institutions, TVET institutions and companies that are interested in offering industry-based microcredentials. The plan is that the approvals will be completed before end of the year.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR SECURITY GUARDING SERVICES AND CLEANING OF SURROUNDINGS SERVICES

CHE is statutory corporate body established by Section 4 of the Higher Education Act 2004. The overall mandate of CHE is quality promotion, quality assurance and to advise the Minister of Education and Training.
Council on Higher Education invites legally registered suppliers interested in doing business with the organisation to register on its database. CHE specifically request service providers in the following categories:

1. CHE invites sealed bids from all eligible companies for the following services:

a) Cleaning Services
b) Security guards

2. Bidding will be conducted with open competitive bidding procedures.

We were honoured to host Prof. Kirti Menon as a guest consultant at the Stakeholder Framework Development Workshop on Micro-Credentials, held at Victory Hall from 22–24 June.

Key discussions focused on how the Commonwealth Micro-credential Framework can be aligned with the Lesotho Qualifications Framework (LQF) ensuring that shorter, flexible learning opportunities can contribute meaningfully to formal qualifications and skills development.

This initiative highlights the potential of micro-credentials to:
βœ… Expand access to flexible, quality learning opportunities
βœ… Support skills development and employability
βœ… Benefit Basotho by recognising prior learning and enabling lifelong learning pathways
Together, we are building a more inclusive, future-ready education and training system for Basotho.
