Let's learn spelling together

One sound… many spellings

The /j/ sound isn’t only spelled with j. It can also appear as g (giant), dge (bridge), ge (page), and dg (gadget).

When children understand that one sound can have multiple spelling patterns, reading becomes clearer, faster, and more confident.

Me teaching my student how to chow chicken necks 😂🍗

Today’s lesson was not in the classroom… but in real life!
Sometimes teaching goes beyond books, grammar, and numbers. It’s in the small, unexpected moments, like showing a student how to enjoy chicken necks the right way 😄

In that moment, I realized that teaching is about connection, culture, and sharing life skills. Learning doesn’t always have to be formal to be meaningful.

We laughed, we bonded, and honestly… that lesson might be remembered longer than anything I teach on paper.

Because at the end of the day, education is not just about content, it’s about impact. ❤️
