Botho University, in collaboration with DIY Entertainment, is proud to present its documentary, “Climate Change in Botswana and Our Efforts Towards Sustainability".

Released in recognition of World Environment Day, the documentary highlights Botho University's commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development through impactful initiatives that promote renewable energy, water conservation, and responsible waste management.

60% of the campus's electricity is generated through solar power, supported by over 1,100 solar panels installed on campus.

A comprehensive retrofitting programme has resulted in a remarkable 75% reduction in water consumption across the campus.

𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
Currently, 35% of campus waste is recycled, supported by a long-standing commitment to reducing waste and eliminating single-use plastics at official university events.

As we commemorate World Environment Day, we encourage everyone to take small but meaningful actions that contribute to a more sustainable future. Together, we can create lasting positive change for our communities and the environment.

Botho University successfully hosted a Meet Our Vice Chancellor engagement with industry partners on Monday, 4 May 2026, at Lancers Inn Hotel. The session brought together valued partners who play a pivotal role in supporting students through internship and employment opportunities.

Vice Chancellor, Dr Sheela Ram, reaffirmed the University’s strong commitment to graduate employability and expressed sincere appreciation for the continued collaboration with industry. She also shared Botho University’s forward-looking vision to expand strategic partnerships that create even greater opportunities for students and graduates.

The University was represented by Dr Sheela Ram (Vice Chancellor), Dr Priya Iyer (Pro Vice Chancellor-People & Impact), Ms. Makhosi Hlalele (Country Head-Lesotho Campus), and Mr Leboea Rankaki (Assistant Manager – SAAD).

Our student athletes delivered outstanding performances during the LUCSA Qualifiers held from 02 to 03 May 2026, securing qualification in every sporting code for the LUCSA Semi-Finals. Competing against top higher education institutions, Botho University showcased talent, teamwork, discipline, and determination across soccer, netball, volleyball, basketball, and chess.

This incredible achievement reflects Botho University’s commitment to developing well-rounded students through academic excellence and world-class sporting opportunities. The journey continues as we head to the LUCSA Semi-Finals in September 2026 with our eyes firmly set on the championship title!
