The Young Determiners of Voinjama Multilateral High School ( YDVMHS) brings revolutionary greetings to the citizens of Lofa, VMHS Alumni Association, Parents, Students of VMHS, teachers and staff from the oasis of academic freedom, moral veracity, equality, and social justice.

The Young determiners of Voinjama Multilateral High School YDVMHS on this Day January 20, 2018 holds on the position statement to condemn the humiliation and the barbaric act against our outgoing seniors and WASSCE candidates in the Voinjama Multilateral High School by offering the Red T. Shirt to WASSCE Seniors who failed two subjects and above.
This unconscious act has the propensity to undermine the academic excellence and deprive the students of their human dignities.

Since Mr. Ericson Boakai administration took office in 2012–2013, it has been a period of torments and agony upon the students, teachers and staff of VMHS contrary to the many expectations that the new Ericson's Administration would bring academic transformation through academic excellence and programs that could build the students capacities, but he has failed to meaningfully respond to these needs and became worse than his predecessor Mr Kortu Akoi.

In 2014, when Ericson Administration introduced the demotion of students in 7th to 11th grade who failed three subjects and above, it caused a serious impediment to the institution and made hundreds of school girls and boys to get out of school due to the fear and disgrace behind this policy. For those who left but didn't have the opportunity to attend private schools became teen Mothers and fathers, and yet still most of them finding it difficult to get back to school.
It was the same year Boakai's Red T-shirt was introduced to the seniors. Since then, offering Red T Shirt could not be the solution to achieving academic excellence rather an obstacle to masses failure as the result of its intimidation which distracted students from studying in advance of the national examination. The number of students in 12th grade who find themselves wearing Red T- shirt increases exponentially on yearly basis.

The YDVMHS challenge Mr. BOAKAI Administration to bring any proof that the level of academic excellence has increased and the numbers of students who wear the T- Shirt have decreased since he brought the Evil T-shirt as solution to failures he claims. This clearly tells that intimidation and humiliation against students can never be a solution to achieving academic excellence. It only tells how week and unreasonable Mr. Boakai's administration is.

More beside, there was and there are lots of scholars and smart Students who passions and inspirations for achieving excellence died because of Mr. Boakai's administration failures to support, motivate, inspire and create a smooth path where these students talents and potentials are realised. Students who sacrifice there times and energy to defend the institution leave with grieves and sadness, can't show any reward or recognition given by the Administration non a word of motivation.
The Bigger question is; Instead of Boakai Administration misusing the school resources responding to failures and buying Red T. Shirt for delinquent seniors, why not spend these resources be spend wisely on students who deserve better and proven records of academic excellence? By doing so, the students they so called delinquent will start to compete for excellence in order to also benefit from rewards given to their colleagues.

VMHS as a governmental institution is like private school under Boakai's Administration. Registration fees and tuitions increase beyond limit, students' activity fees are paid but can't be efficiently used for the cause of the students under BOAKAI's Administration. These fees are added so that it be diverted into his private wallet with no accountability. When student leaders ask for their funds Boakai becomes so aggressive in his responses and escape to be accountable for what he's responsible for.
Under Boakai's administration, the students Council government finds it difficult to establish strong relationship between students and administration because he won't listen and respect students leaders against his personal interests. He believes in fanaticism, he will go against any student who differ his ideology or opinion.

Young determiners of Voinjama Multilateral High School as a campus based organization founded in 2013 , coordinated to promote academic excellence in building students capacities through Quizzing, debate and donations has worked in the period of time to recalibrated the broken fabric and eradicate the vicious of VMHS hereby warn Principal BOAKAI to cease the humiliation against our brothers and sisters who strive for posterity under his leadership. To do away with the Red T shirt issuing that doesn't mean well to the seniors. Above all to reinstate the Seventeen Senior students for allegedly missbehaving and refusal to wear your Red T shirt. Those students need focus to make pass in their exams not an obsticle that will lead to failure.

With our heart full of consciousness to improve academic excellence and improve Students performance, we hereby recommend to the VMHS administration to embark on the following below methods to achieve academic excellence instead of the evil Red T. Shirt that has hindered the ability of the students.

To engage in educative activities but not limited to conducting inter school debates, quizzing, spelling bees, vocational trainings and sporting events in the institution.

To provide capacity building through workshops, students summits and basic trainers of trainers trainings for students so as to enhance their ability to develop their school and compete for excellence

To provide scholarships, give awards and financial aids to honor roll and principal roll students as attempt to reduce risks of students dropping risk of students failing and motivate them to compete with their friends.

To promote peace and solidarity among the difference religions and tribes but not limited to undertaking peace building Seminars, peace matches and jamborees and support to the press club including all other activities that foster peace and unity among students.

To conduct motivational programs in restoring the values of academic excellence, leadership, capacity building, activism and advocacy against academic malpractices such as s*x for grades and cash for grades.

To create awareness and enlightenment of the dangers of teenage pregnancy, earlier marriage and among others s*xual related education.

We also add our voice to the many voices to tell Mr Boakai, VMHS is not a personal property, if not because of the students been presence and passionate to learn, you couldn't have been there as principal. You are their servant not slave master. . Voinjama Multilateral High School like other Multilaterals created to decentralize formal education and ensure the children of poor parents who can't afford school fees get educated. Stop the violence against them and lead them to achieve future greatness for the sake of MAMA LIBERIA.

If you can't work in the best of interest of our Alma mater, you better leave ! Your presence in VMHS shouldn't be an impediment to academic excellence.
