Today, September 23, 2026, Oscar Romero School for the Deaf proudly joins the global Deaf community in celebrating the International Day of Sign Languages and International Week of Deaf People, observed from September 21–27.

This year’s theme, “Declaring Deaf People’s Human Rights,” reminds us that Deaf people have the right to communicate, learn, participate, express their identity, and live with dignity, equality, and respect.

At Oscar Romero School for the Deaf, we believe that sign language is more than communication—it is a language, a culture, an identity, and an essential part of inclusion and human rights. 🤟💙

Today, we celebrate our Deaf learners, teachers, families, staff, supporters, and the wider Deaf community. We remain committed to providing an environment where every Deaf learner is valued, empowered, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

🙏🏽🌹 FEAST OF OUR LADY OF SORROWS | MONTH OF CREATION 🌍💚

Today, Oscar Romero School for the Deaf joyfully observed the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows with a Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. John Xavier, Assistant Parish Priest of St. Dominic Parish.

The celebration was a beautiful opportunity for our school community to come together in prayer, faith, and reflection as we honored Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows, seeking her intercession and maternal guidance.

During this special time, Sr. Theresa, Sister-in-Charge, also encouraged the school community to observe this month as a Month of Creation—a time to reflect on our responsibility to care for God’s creation and protect our common home. 🌿🌎

May Our Lady of Sorrows continue to intercede for our students, staff, families, and the entire Oscar Romero School community.
