The Youth Network for Reform, YONER-LIBERIA, in partnership with the Liberia Association of Volunteers, LAV, designed and coined “School Engagement and Mentoring Project” is a two years project (2016-2017). The theme of this project is, “Re-defining Possibilities for Youths through Volunteerism.”
The purpose of this project is to buttress government and school authorities’ effort in molding the minds of senior high students through programs of academic, social and moral standards, and fully prepare them to be integrated in universities and colleges with an independent thought, and whose intellect shall be used to resolve or find solutions to the everyday needs and problems affecting the young people and society. This project also seeks to provide support to sexual and reproductive health issues faced by students and provides for gender equality in every activity. The project is a mentoring project, whose platform aims at facilitating subsequent productive networking among students through interactive sharing and management of knowledge. Furthermore, the project will enable and strengthen links between students and the real world – inclusive of higher education, leadership and entrepreneurship; thus, making them productive citizens who can contribute to a stronger gender-balanced workforce of our moving development and economic progress in Liberia.
