Liberia, for example is abundant in rivers, rainforests, mangroves and swamps, and is considered one of the wettest countries in the world, but the country lacks infrastrucutre and services to reach everyone with safe drinking water, with close to 90% of its population having limited access to safe drinking water.

One in five women and girls throughout the world, including 19 percent of women and girls aged 15 to 49, have experienced physical and/or sexual violence by an intimate partner within the last 12 months. Yet, 49 countries have no laws that specifically protect women from such violence.
In Liberia, 100% of legal frameworks that promote, enforce and monitor gender equality under the SDG indicator, with a focus on violence against women, are in place.
