The motorcycle community of Liberia is mourning this morning following the death of Prince Kollie, a dedicated member of the National Federation of Motorcycle and Tricycle Association of Liberia - NAFOMTAL, Grand Bassa Branch. Prince Kollie lost his life in a tragic road accident on Monday afternoon September 21,2026 on the Buchanan-Monrovia Highway near Fortville, District #2.

The fatal crash involved a beverage truck, two taxis, and two motorcycles. Prince Kollie died instantly from severe injuries sustained in the collision. An ID card found on him confirmed his membership with NAFOMTAL.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all riders across Liberia. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

This painful incident is another reminder of the dangers on our highways. We urgently call for nationwide road safety education, stricter traffic enforcement, and greater respect among all road users. No rider should have to fear for their life while trying to earn a living.

Let us drive and ride responsibly. Every life matters. 🙏.

ANOTHER SAD NEWS | September 16, 2026

A tragic accident has just occurred at Fountain of Life Junction on Johnsonville Road.

According to eyewitness reports, a truck collided with a motorbike
and the motorbike rider reportedly lost his life at the scene.

Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of the victim.
May God comfort them during this difficult time.

WHEN WILL IT END?

Day after day, innocent Liberians are dying on our roads.
Mothers, fathers, students, commercial riders lives cut short by preventable accidents.

How many more must we bury?
Should we wait until everyone dies before we take action?

This is why road safety education cannot wait.
Drivers: Slow down and respect the road.
Riders: Wear your helmet and follow the rules.
Pedestrians: Cross with care .

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: September 16, 2026
ABATE of Liberia Calls for Immediate Enforcement of Chapter 2, Section 2.2 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of Liberia.
Monrovia, Liberia

The Alliance of Bikers Aimed Towards Education (ABATE) of Liberia expresses deep concern over the daily loss of life and property on Liberian roads resulting from the failure to enforce existing traffic laws.

Chapter 2, Section 2.2 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law is explicit:
“The Ministry of Transport shall issue driver’s licenses only to qualified drivers who have passed both a written and practical test.

No person shall sit for that test without presenting a certificate from an accredited driving school. The Ministry shall also publish the official cost of driver’s licenses in USD or its equivalent in LRD.”
This law exists to protect lives.

Training builds skill. Testing proves readiness. Certification ensures responsibility.

Yet, reports from citizens indicate that licenses are being issued upon payment receipts alone, no school, no test, no qualification.

The result is blood on our streets. Untrained drivers cause daily accidents, kill innocent people, and destroy property. As bikers, we are often the first victims. We share the road with these untrained drivers every day.

ABATE of Liberia therefore demands that the Government through the Ministry of Transport immediately:
1. Enforce the driving school certificate requirement for all applicants
2. Administer and document written and practical tests
3. Publish and audit the official license fee structure
4. Investigate and stop the illegal sale of driver’s licenses
A driver’s license is a public safety certification not a receipt.
The law is written. We need enforcement now.

SAD NEWS 😭😭

A man identified as Morris King tragically lost his life last night at about 8:00 PM.
He reportedly crashed into a parked truck along the Gbarnga-Monrovia Highway in Totota.

This is another heartbreaking reminder of the dangers on our roads.
Too many Liberian families are losing fathers, brothers, and sons to preventable accidents.

The high rate of road crashes in Liberia is alarming. Many of these accidents happen because of a lack road safety education, speeding, driving at night without proper lights, and vehicles parked without warning signs.

We must do better.
It is time for the government, schools, transport unions, and communities to invest seriously in road safety education.
Drivers need training. Riders need awareness. Pedestrians need to be protected. And every vehicle must follow basic safety rules.

Until we make road safety a national priority, we will keep burying our people too soon.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Morris King.
May his soul rest in peace 🙏
May Liberia learn from this tragedy and act now.

I stand before you today as a proud motorcycle rider.
For several years, I have lived on two wheels. I know the rush of freedom, the long miles, and I also know the pain, the risks, and the struggles that comes with riding in Liberia.

That experience changed me. This is why I have dedicated my life to one cause: the improvement, betterment, and development of the motorcycle sector in Liberia.

I do this for every rider who deserves safer roads.
For every family who depends on a bike to put food on the table.
For a Liberia where our riders will be respected, protected, and given the opportunities to succeed.

The road ahead will not be easy, but it is worth it.
Because when we invest in riders, we invest in our communities.
And when we build for motorcycles, we build for Liberia’s future.

Let’s ride forward together. 🇱🇷🏍️
