OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION
THE BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION (BIOSSA-UL)
UNIVERSITY OF LIBERIA–FENDELL CAMPUS
DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
May 14, 2026

Subject : BIOSSA Unveils Student Data Management System Under Moses Toe Smith Jr Administration

The Leadership of the Biological Sciences Students’ Association (BIOSSA UL), through the Office of the Secretariat led by the Secretary General, Bio Musa Tamba Munyah, proudly unveils the digitization of the Department of Biological Sciences- UL’s student data management system—a historic advancement marking the first major digital administrative transition since the establishment of the Department in 1974. This initiative was empowered through the directive of the office of the Preesident Moses Toe Smith Jr ( Smith Smith ) in close consultation with the office of the Chairman Asst. Prof. Dr. Allen Johnny Borlay .

For the first time since the establishment of the Department of Biological Sciences, the long-standing era of manual documentation, paper-based BIODATA processing, physical filing systems, and delayed database management is being transformed through the introduction of a modern, secure, and centralized digital system designed to enhance efficiency, accountability, accessibility, and institutional innovation for all students within the Department.

This is far more than a routine administrative advancement; it represents the dismantling of a decades-long institutional barrier that had, for generations, been regarded as permanent and beyond transformation.

Through determination, sleepless commitment, technical innovation, and institutional vision, BIOSSA-UL now enters a new era where students can securely access and submit digital BIODATA documents through unique one-time access tokens linked directly to a real-time database management system.

Under this initiative:

• Every student is assigned a unique access token
• Tokens are protected, revocable, resettable, and expire when necessary
• Submissions undergo administrative review and verification
• Approved students automatically receive BIOSSA and Departmental ID numbers
• Data management becomes faster, transparent, reliable, and secure

This achievement reflects BIOSSA UL commitment to innovation, institutional progress, and student-centered leadership, while setting a new standard for administrative modernization within the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Liberia - UL.

BIOSSA is entering a new era—smarter, faster, and fully digital.
