As part of our Health Journalism practical exercise at the Jonathan Paye-Layleh School of Journalism, two of our outstanding Level One students, Mary R. Golah and Wilmot Konah, were assigned to produce a documentary on the challenges faced by nurses and doctors in Liberia.
Their documentary highlighted major issues affecting the health sector, including shortages of medical staff, low salaries, limited medical resources, and the daily struggles healthcare workers face while serving the nation.
This exercise was designed to help students understand the importance of health reporting and how journalism can be used to spotlight critical national concerns that demand attention and action.
We are deeply proud of their dedication, creativity, and professionalism in executing this assignment. Their lecturer and supervisor Abe Mulbah, always love to see students apply classroom knowledge to real-life issues that impact our society.
Journalism is not just about reporting—it is about giving voice to the people and pushing for meaningful change.
Congratulations to Mary R. Golah and Wilmot Konah for a job well done. Keep striving for excellence!
