Civic Education in Action at AJB LEADERS Academy!

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025 was a proud moment for AJB LEADERS Academy as our students lined up to vote in our school’s mock election. With excitement on their faces, each student stepped forward, ballot in hand, ready to make their voice heard.

This simple activity carried a powerful message: leadership begins with responsibility, and responsibility begins with understanding how to participate in our community. Through civic education, our learners are discovering the importance of fair elections, peaceful participation, and respecting the choices of others.

As they stood in line—talking, laughing, and reminding each other to follow the rules—we saw the future leaders of Liberia taking shape. Every vote cast today was more than just a choice; it was a lesson in democracy, unity, and respect.

At AJB LEADERS Academy, we don’t just teach what leadership is—we teach students to live it.

Liberia Takes a Bold Digital Step Forward in School Governance

Today, the Ministry of Education launched the new Digital Platform for School Operational Permits, marking a major step toward faster, fairer, and more accessible school registration for all school owners across Liberia.

Speaking at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex, Minister of Education Hon. Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah emphasized that long journeys to Monrovia, unclear paperwork, and months of waiting are becoming a thing of the past. The new system allows schools to apply for and renew permits online, creating a transparent and trackable process rooted in better public service.

This innovation aligns with the Ministry’s commitment under the ARREST Agenda to rebuild trust, strengthen governance, and modernize service delivery. It also advances President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s call to Think Liberia, Love Liberia, Build Liberia by putting efficiency and accountability at the center of education management.

The Ministry extends appreciation to UNICEF, the World Bank, Smile Solutions, and County and District Education Officers for their support.

Today’s launch begins a new chapter in the Ministry’s relationship with schools, built on transparency, service, and shared responsibility for Liberia’s learners. The future of education governance in Liberia is digital, and today marks the start of that journey.
