Today, October 11th is being celebrated as the International Day of the Girl Child under the theme, ” Girl Force: Unscripted and Unstoppable.”
This day is being celebrated because of the following reasons:
* To promote girls empowerment
* To reflect the successful emergence of girls in different fields
* To raise a voice against the girl child violence
* To promote education, nutrition, legal rights, medical care for girls, etc.

”We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back. We call upon our sisters around the world to be brave--to embrace the strength within themselves and realize their full potential”-Malala Yousafzai

Every girl child must be given the privilege to have access to education, health care and the right to decide what's best for her. We find this very difficult to do in our society because of our backgrounds and the mentality many of us have concerning a girl child, but it is not too late for us to be done with this mentality.
We are glad that the world is gradually becoming enlightened to the power of a girl child.
As per the theme for today's celebration ”Girl Force: Unscripted and Unstoppable, ” we encourage every girl child to use the power she has to impact the society. William Shakespeare once said, ” And though she is but little, she is fierce.” You may be a teenager but don't consider your age as a barrier. You're never too young to make an impact. Take advantage of the many opportunities given you and you'll see the difference.
Great Women like Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou,Leymah Gbowee, etc. did not just sit and wait for things to happen. Those women used their force and definitely believe that they are ”Unscripted and Unstoppable ”.
Don't be moved by the things people may think or say about you. You have to be the one to prove them wrong. If they think you're weak, believe that you are strong. If they think you lack the ability to make things happen, prove to them that you have the potential.

You're Unscripted and unstoppable!
You're bold and innovative!
You're strong and Talented!
In conclusion, use these quotes by some great women as something to inspire you.

* ”No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”-Eleanor Roosevelt
* The most effective way to do it, is to do it.”-Amelia Earhart
* If you really want to fly, just harness your power to your passion.”- Oprah Winfrey

Happy International Day of the Girl Child!

This gone Monday, the 16 of September 2019, Education for Girls Initiative (EGI) accomplished one of their plans for this year.

EGI identified with some students of the J.W.F Sherman Memory Institute, located Broadstreet, Up Ducor, Monrovia/ Liberia, by means of donating few items, like tissues and some stationery, to help ease the learning of the students.

This donation, however, was a way of establishing a girl's club in the school, that will create meaningful programs to help enable girls to fully get involved with their academic and professional sojourns.

Thanks and appreciation goes to the entire team for their support and effort.🙏🙏
