Final Exam has been postponed on Wednesday🔥🔥
With the approval of the Administration, you are hereby informed that all the Final Examinations scheduled on May 27, 2026, have been postponed to Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the same time. This will provide Muslims among the faculty, staff, and students with the opportunity to celebrate their holy day, Eid Al-Adha. This aligns with AMEU's core value, Diversity.
Please note that all other activities, excluding the examinations, will continue on May 27, 2026. All exam dates after May 27, 2026, remain the same and at the same time.

For Immediate Release
Freshman Class Leadership Calls for Transparency and Accountability on Student Activities Fees and Sport Fees.
The Freshman Class leadership at African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) raises serious concerns regarding the management and use of student activity and sports fees. Over the semester, students have contributed $8 for activities and $8 for sports, yet no meaningful support, programs, or sponsorship has been provided by the administration to benefit the student body.
1. Lack of Institutional Support
It is deeply disappointing that after submitting over two letters requesting support from the administration, the Freshman Class did not receive even 5 LD from the administration, the SGC, or any form of support. As a result, all activities and programs undertaken by the freshman class have been funded entirely from our own pockets. While our leadership is committed to making a real impact, we cannot continue shouldering the financial burden alone. Leadership is not about titles or appearances, but about delivering tangible results that benefit students.
2. Questions About Student Fees
Students pay fees for activities and sports, yet even the three major activities—Miss AMEU, AMEU Got Talent, and the field trip—have not been properly executed. For example, Miss AMEU was canceled due to lack of interest from the students, yet students still paid entry fees for these activities.
This raises critical questions:
1. How many students actually benefit from these programs?
2. Are these the only activities where all the millions of dollars in student fees are going?
3. Who ultimately receives these funds, and how are they allocated?
With thousands of freshmen contributing between 2,000 and 4,000 students, and a total student population of over 7,000, the funds collected for activities and sports amount to millions of dollars, yet students have seen no tangible benefits, leaving the student body questioning the transparency and accountability of fee management.
3. Mismanagement of Programs and Fees
Events have suffered due to lack of transparency, poor planning, and inadequate funding. Students continue to fund activities from their own pockets, while contributing significant amounts in fees. The Freshman Class leadership continues to question how funds are allocated and who benefits from them, as freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior class programs are left unsupported.
4. Attempts to Seek External Support
The Freshman Class has reached out to government ministries, agencies, and officials for support, but the response has been less than 1% effective. This underscores the need for the university itself to support students using the fees collected rather than leaving them to rely on external assistance.
5. Commitment to Impact Over Titles
The Freshman Class leadership stands firm: we do not need titles; we need impact. Leadership is measured by results, progress, and tangible benefits to students, not by recognition or positions. Students have entrusted us to lead, organize, and create opportunities, yet our capacity to do so is limited by lack of institutional support.
6. Call to Action
The Freshman Class leadership demands that the administration:
1. Provide full transparency on the collection and allocation of activity and sports fees.
2. Clarify how funds are used and ensure that students directly benefit from their contributions.
3. Support freshman and student government-led programs effectively, instead of leaving students to fund everything themselves.
4;;Ensure that all student fees are accounted for, and that meaningful programs and events are sponsored in accordance with these contributions.
7. Final Statement
Our focus remains on real progress and tangible impact for students, not superficial titles or political appearances. We cannot continue funding initiatives from our own pockets. The Freshman Class leadership is committed to advocating for students’ rights, resources, and opportunities, and we expect the administration to act responsibly, transparently, and with accountability.
