Emily College to Launch TVET Program in Brewerville
The Emily College in Brewerville is set to formally launch its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program today, April 10, 2025. The launch will take place at 11:00 AM sharp on the College’s Jawaiyeh Campus in the Kpo River area, just outside Monrovia.
The highly anticipated event is expected to draw the attention of both the public and government officials, including River Gee County Senator Francis Dopoh and the Assistant Youth and Sports Minister for TVET Education, Mr. Collins Tamba, among others.
According to Mr. Dioh Isaiah Dweh, Acting Vice President for Administration at Emily College, the launch ceremony will also feature a showcase of students’ professional skills. These exhibitions are intended to demonstrate the practical competencies acquired through the College’s training and to inspire prospective students to consider careers in vocational and professional fields.
Founded in 2022, the Emily College of TVET and Professional Studies was established as a beacon of technical and vocational empowerment in western Liberia. With a mission to equip students with practical, job-ready skills, the College offers a wide array of hands-on training programs. These include Cosmetology, General Construction, Plumbing, Interior Decoration, Home Arts, Electricity, Driving, Computer Science, Tailoring, Fashion, Satellite Installation, and Auto Mechanics.
In addition to its TVET programs, the College's Professional School also provides academic training in Information Technology, Public Health, Accounting, Sociology, Economics, Management, and Teacher Education.
The College administration believes that promoting TVET is essential to addressing youth unemployment and driving economic development in the region. Through its innovative curriculum and community-centered approach, Emily College aims to transform lives and contribute meaningfully to Liberia’s human resource development.
The public is encouraged to attend and witness firsthand the practical skills and talents of students poised to become the future workforce of Liberia.
