National Alumni Association of Laboratory Tubman High School

efforts of several Tubman High School alumni from the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania areas in 1994 in Trenton, New Jersey, USA. To enhance the physical, academic and social developments of William V. Tubman High school in Monrovia, Liberia, in providing quality education to students;
To provide direct assistance to students in the form of scholarships; and
To foster improved relationship amongst members and their families throughout the US.
. In 1998, the chapter of Northern California was organized, and it served as host of that year's convention. NAALTHSA has had its own tests of time. Its first major crisis was in 1999 when the association was at the height of disarray. By then, NAALTA’s ties were nearly broken. This unfortunate situation surfaced at the Convention in Trenton. Importantly, the delegates resolved to continue with the business of reassembling the membership and maintaining the spirit of the Association.
. The subsequent Re-union meeting was unanimously voted by the Trenton convention to be held in Oakland, California. In the same year, an open letter was addressed to the President of Liberia, His Excellency Charles G. Taylor urging him to stop all negotiations regarding the sale of the facilities of Tubman High School. The said communication was published by a number of newspapers in Monrovia.
. By 2001, the DC Metro-States Chapter comprising of Metropolitan Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland was established. As a matter of fact, that year's Re-Union was held in Silver Spring, Maryland. Maryland also hosted the 2002 NAALTA Meeting. NAALTA's 10th Anniversary and Re-Union occasion were held in Staten Island, New York.
. It was at the 11th Re-Union occasion in Trenton, New Jersey, that the Minnesota delegation proposed that the Association's Re-Union Festivities be referred to as “National General Assembly”. This proposal was adopted in 2006 at the Association's Re-Union Meeting in Philadelphia. Also resolved at that meeting was the appointment of the NAALTA Constitution Revision Committee chaired by Mr. Sackie Kennedy, President, Minnesota Chapter. As part of the 2006 Assembly resolution, the National President was mandated to expend funds belonging to NAALTA based on budgetary allotment approved by the Assembly or Executive Council.
