Don’t malhandle me. ❌

Don’t manhandle me. ✅

People often confuse similar-looking or sounding words, especially when trying to describe physical actions or treatment.

One common mistake is using 'malhandle' instead of the correct term 'manhandle'.

🔵Manhandle(correct)
Means to handle someone or something roughly or forcefully, often without care.

✅He was manhandled by the security guards.

🔵Malhandle (incorrect )
This word doesn’t officially exist in Standard English. Though 'mal-' is a prefix meaning 'badly'. malhandle is not recognised.

Examples:

📍 The police were accused of manhandling the protester. ✅

📍 Don’t manhandle the equipment; it’s fragile. ✅

📍 He manhandled the thief until help arrived. ✅

📍 Please don’t manhandle my child like that. ✅

📍 The luggage was badly manhandled at the airport. ✅

📍 She was manhandled by the crowd while trying to leave. ✅

📍 It’s wrong to manhandle anyone, no matter the situation. ✅

Always use 'manhandle' to describe rough or forceful treatment, as 'malhandle' is incorrect and should be avoided in both speech and writing.
