Vision
A Liberia where children leave the streets, get into school and live in economically empowered family homes.
Mission
SCoL’s mission is to help the most vulnerable and marginalized children to access quality education. This includes children who live and /or work on the streets, children who have lost their primary caregiver and out-of-school girls.
Using an inter-sectorial approach to remove barriers to education for children through:
· Supporting vulnerable children’s access to schools.
· Livelihood support for impoverished parents/caregivers.
Who We Are
Street Child of Liberia (SCoL) was registered as a local NGO in 2013 and forms part of the wider Street Child Group, working in 10 countries around world.
Founded in 2013 with a small project in West Point Neighborhood, SCoL has grown from a team of Four (4) to an organization of Sixty (60) Liberian Staff and Volunteers
We believe in the power of Education to change lives and we are taking actions to get more children into school and learning
What We Do
Working in education, livelihood and child protection, we deliver a holistic low cost and sustainable approach.
Bringing together students, families and communities we want to provide safe and secure homes and learning environments for all.
Where We Work
Across Liberia, we have worked in five counties: Montserrado County, Grand Bassa County, Margibi County, Grand Cape Mount County and Maryland County.
Our ambition is to work nationwide and we are always looking for opportunities and partners to do this with.
Our Impact
Since 2013, we have helped over 12000 children access education, improved the quality of education for over 7500 children and trained 200 teachers.
We also helped over 6000 families start a small business to keep children in school.
Strong Voice
Since April of 2018, Street Child co-chaired the Education NGO Forum in Liberia together with Concerns Worldwide.
This has given Street Child a voice in the education sector, being an active member of the LEG (Liberian Education Group) & ESDC (Education Sector Development Committee).
