The Office of Student Affairs of the University of Liberia successfully convened a high-level consultative meeting bringing together the University’s senior leadership and international student representatives in furtherance of academic excellence, student development, and global academic collaboration.

The meeting was graciously chaired by the President of the University of Liberia, Dr. Layli Maparyan, and attended by the Deans of the Office of Student Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Sekou W. Konneh and Rev. Samuel F. Agbarson, alongside the Debate Team Supervisor, Mr. Aloysius B. Toe.

Also in attendance were members of the South African Debate Team, namely:
Captain Jamal J. Ghoson
Mr. Nehemiah H. Flomo
Mr. Blessman Williams

The meeting focused on strengthening academic exchange, competitive debate programming, leadership development, and fostering international partnerships between the University of Liberia and its global counterparts.

Discussions emphasized the importance of debate as a tool for critical thinking, civic responsibility, leadership training, and global engagement among students. Strategic commitments were outlined to enhance student debate programs, provide institutional support, and encourage continuous international academic collaboration.

The Office of Student Affairs reaffirms its commitment to nurturing globally competent students, promoting excellence in academic discourse, and building partnerships that elevate the University of Liberia’s presence on the international academic stage.
