Fuel Relief: Liberia Receives 10,000 Metric Tons of Gasoline Amid Shortage Fears
Monrovia – Liberia has received a major boost in its petroleum supply following the arrival of a fuel-laden vessel aimed at stabilizing the country’s energy needs.
The Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) confirmed that the shipment, carrying approximately 10,000 metric tons of gasoline, docked at its storage terminal in Monrovia. Authorities say the delivery is expected to ease concerns over potential fuel shortages and ensure consistent distribution across the country.
Officials described the development as a significant step toward strengthening Liberia’s petroleum supply chain. The arrival of the shipment aligns with ongoing efforts by Joseph Boakai to enhance national fuel security and improve the reliability of energy resources.
LPRC Managing Director Amos Tweh highlighted that the successful delivery underscores the government’s commitment to revitalizing key public institutions. He also disclosed that the company is undertaking major upgrades, including the construction of a modern petroleum testing laboratory and expansion of storage capacity.
The latest shipment is expected to bring relief to consumers and businesses that rely heavily on steady fuel availability.
