FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 25, 2025

ULSU Acknowledges Immediate Payment of Part-Time Instructors' Salaries Following Leadership Intervention

Fellow students, esteemed members of the press, and the Liberian public,

In the spirit of progressive struggle and unwavering commitment to justice, the University of Liberia Students’ Union (ULSU) is pleased to announce that, following intense negotiations led by ULSU President J. Blio B. Tingbah and the leadership of ULSU, the University administration, under Dr. Layli Maparyan’s leadership, has taken immediate action to begin disbursing the long-overdue salaries of part-time instructors.

This development is a testament to the power of collective resistance and proactive engagement. While we recognize this as a step in the right direction, ULSU remains vigilant in ensuring that transparency, accountability, and fair financial policies become the norm rather than the exception at the University of Liberia.

We extend our appreciation to President Tingbah and her team for their steadfast advocacy and to all stakeholders who contributed to this breakthrough. However, our struggle for a better UL continues, and we urge the administration to uphold its commitment to timely and equitable financial management.

Long live the students of the University of Liberia!
Long live ULSU!
