Today, we join the rest of Liberia and the global community in celebrating the gallant men and women of the Armed Forces of Liberia.
On this Armed Forces Day, we honor the courage, discipline, and sacrifice of those who have chosen to serve our nation with loyalty and pride. Their commitment to protecting our peace and sovereignty does not go unnoticed.
As the Public Health Department of the University of Liberia, we are especially proud to recognize one of our own, Varney Askie, a prospective graduate of our department and a dedicated member of the Armed Forces of Liberia.
Varney represents the true spirit of service. While standing firm in defense of our nation, he has also remained committed to advancing his education in public health โ preparing himself to serve not only with strength, but with knowledge and compassion. His journey reflects resilience, discipline, and a deep love for country and community.
Today, we celebrate all members of the Armed Forces of Liberia. But we take special pride in celebrating Varney โ a soldier and scholar โ whose dedication inspires us all.
May this Armed Forces Day remind us that service to nation takes many forms, and those who answer the call deserve our deepest respect and gratitude.
Happy Armed Forces Day. ๐ฑ๐ท
