It is said in the Abbasid era that a Damascene merchant was always challenging his colleagues and saying to them: In my life, I have never done a trade and lost from it, not once.
His friends laughed sarcastically: How can you not lose even once in your life?
The merchant asked them to present him with a challenge
They told him that it was seventh impossible to sell dates in Iraq and make a profit because dates there are as available as dirt in the desert.
He said to them: I accepted the challenge, so he bought dates imported from Iraq and set off east to the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate at that time.
It is said that at that time, Al-Wathiq Billah was going on an outing to Mosul, where the spring was. Mosul was one of the most beautiful cities in northern Iraq by nature, as it was called the Mother of the Two Springes because it was spring in summer and winter. His daughter had lost her necklace on the way back from the trip, so she cried and complained, so the Caliph ordered Al-Wathiq to search. Finding it enticed the residents of BaghdadThat whoever finds his daughter’s necklace will receive a great reward and he will be married to her, i.e. to the Caliph’s daughter. When the Damascene merchant arrived on the outskirts of Baghdad, he found people like crazy people heading to the mainland to search for the necklace. He asked them, “What’s wrong with you??!!

So they told him their story, and the eldest of them said, “Alas, we forgot to take food and we cannot return for fear that the rest of the world will precede us.” So he began to strike one hand with another.
The Damascene merchant said to them: I will sell you dates
So they bought dates from him at the highest prices, and he said, “I have won the challenge.”
Al-Wathiq, who was nearby, heard about the news of the Damascene merchant who sells dates in Iraq and makes a profit. He was extremely surprised by that and asked to meet him. He said to him, “Tell me about your story.”
He said to him: O my lord, may God bless you, since the day I started trading, I have not lost once
Al-Wathiq asked him the reason
He said to him: I was a poor orphan boy, and my mother was disabled, and I had been taking care of her since childhood and working and earning my living since I was five years old.

When I was twenty, my mother was about to die, so she raised her hand, praying that God would grant me success, that he would never let me suffer loss in my religion or my world, that he would marry me from the house of the most honorable people of the era, and that he would turn the dust in my hand into gold. With an involuntary movement, he grabbed a handful of dirt as he spoke.
Al-Wathiq smiled at his words, and suddenly he felt something strange in his hand. He held it in his hand and looked at it, and it was a golden necklace, and Al-Wathiq’s daughter recognized it.
Thus, from his mother’s prayer, this Damascene merchant was the first to export dates to Iraq in history and successfully, and he became the son-in-law of the confident Caliph. Glory be to God. The mother’s prayer is answered. No one will come and knock on your door to grant you a beautiful day. You are the one who must knock on the doors of your soul, open your windows, and strive to win the most beautiful, and your Lord will never let you down. Oh God, bless usBe kind to our parents, even if they are dead, then forgive them and have mercy on them.

Knowledge and wisdom:

Almighty Allah has honored His servants who believe in Him, so He loved them with kindness and honored them with His gifts, and the best that God gave them was knowledge and wisdom, for every good thing other than that will disappear, and this is what He indicates in His glorious Book:
(And whoever is given wisdom has been given much good, and none remember except those with understanding.) Al-Baqarah 296.

" Wisdom is the lost property of the believer. Wherever he finds it, he takes it.” This is the saying of the Commander of the Faithful Umar, peace be upon him. If there was something better than knowledge and wisdom in this world, it would have been given to the prophets, the truthful, and the righteous. That is why Imam Ali, peace be upon him, said: “There is no benefit in good that does not contain knowledge, and there is no good in knowledge if there's no good inside ".

El- haji Souleymane Oldman Sylla Writes.....

Please read and edicate yourself on the establishment of the Muslim Congress of Liberia and Muslim Council of Liberia.
When, in the early 1960s members of the Muslim community of Monrovia decided to amalgamate their various Islamic organizations into the Muslim Congress of Liberia, the late Al-Hajj Mory D. Kaba (née Diakity) was one of its key founders among other prominent Liberian Muslims. Through their efforts, the Muslim Congress of Liberia was enacted by an Act of the Liberian Legislature in 1966. Although he was a prominent Liberian businessman and philanthropist, not many Liberians, outside of the Liberian Islamic community knew of theirs history and work in Liberia.
The father of Ambassador to Egypt, Senegal, Saudi Arabia, Minister Transport, Minister of Commerce, Commissioner Land Commission Dr. Brahima D. Kaba.
In 1938, he live in Tchien/Zwedru, a town in Liberia's Eastern Province, which later became the capital of Grand Gedeh County.
Old Man Karonka Keita (also known as Ketter), was a member of Zwedru's City Council, Keita represented the Mandingo. Other prominent members of the Mandingo community population of Zwedru at that time included the late Al-hajj N'Faly Cisse (or Sessay), {Ali Sylla} the maternal grand uncle, the uncle of Haja Tidanke Sesay, {my late mother, late Al-hajj Mohamed Kebe (or Kerbay). Mr. Kebe gained notoriety for providing his compound in Zwedru for an Islamic School. The school's prominent students included Dr. Brahima D. Kaba, Alhaji Gebah Kaba, the father of Maxwell Kaba, Alhaji Dukuly, Alhaji Sherriff, Alhaji Konneh, Alhaji Souleymane Sylla {father}. They quickly established themselves as prominent business traders in the main cities of Liberia.
Alhaji Mory D. Kaba became the Chairman of the Muslim Congress of Liberia in 1979. Under his leadership, the Congress expanded and diversified its educational activities. The then, W. V. S. Tubman Muslim Elementary School was expanded with the addition of the Muslim Congress Junior and High School, and the construction of the New Port Street Mosque, as an additional innovation.

The evolution of the school was now at its golden moment, starting from its humble beginning in the early sixties with the Karan Ta (or learning place), an indigenous, afternoon school then located at "K. K. Yard," in the PHP Section of Monrovia's South Beach. K. K. represented the initials of Karamo Kaba, the wealthy Liberian entrepreneur, who provided the basement of his huge compound for the Karan Ta.

Karan Ta, under the leadership of the erudite Karamoh Saynkun, was not merely an Islamic institution; it was also a concept of complimentary education that addressed children's developmental needs and nurture. All of its students, including Dr. Al Hassan Contel, President of the University of Liberia and Ambassador to Nigeria, Judge Yusuf D, Kaba, Associate Justice Karbineh M. Jane’h attended the school.. The curriculum included Arabic literacy and numeracy, knowledge and translation of the Holy Qur'an and the sayings and works of the Prophet Muhammad (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him), the Five Pillars of Islam, poetry, songs and physical education. Students were encouraged to undertake extracurricular activities, to which many in their generation responded by joining the Boy Scouts of Liberia, a central leadership training institution in 1960s Liberia. Others joined the Liberian National Youth Organization (LNYO).

Al-Hajj Mory D. Kaba became the Islamic Development Bank's (IDB's) special representative, and chair of its Scholarship Committee in Liberia in 1984. His co-chairs included the late Al-Hajj Rashid Sherif, then Chairman of the Congress School System Committee, and the late Al-Hajj Souleymane Syllah as treasurer. The Islamic Development Bank also included in its program activity in Liberia funding for the establishment of an Islamic University under the administration of the Muslim Congress of Liberia. The project was suspended in the aftermath of the 1989 Liberian civil war.

In the mid 1980s, they helped establish the National Muslim Council of Liberia, a federation of four main Islamic organizations in the country (Muslim Congress, Muslim Salafia, Muslim Community and Muslim Union from Nimba).
Some of the members were killed by INPFL, NPFL and some died in exile THE STRUGGLE CONTINUE.

This generation must tru to do better than our forefathers and mothers. Let us just do it.
