Liberia Independent Doesn’t Worth To Be Celebrate



Today, as we linger to commemorate the 177 years of independence of our beloved nation, Liberia. I will like to Pen down to you from the bottom of my heart about the truth of this nation.



We have been celebrating our independence for years, but what do these celebrations truly signify? Have they brought us closer to the prosperous and developed nation we aspire to be? Or have they merely become a façade that masks the harsh reality of our situation?



It pains me to say that the current state of our nation does not warrant grand celebrations of independence. Our leaders have failed us, drowning in corruption and self-interest while the citizens suffer.



The youth are left unemployed, the people are dying due to lack of basic services, and we continue to lag behind in development. Instead of being a beacon of hope and progress in the eyes of other nations, we are looked down upon for our poverty and struggles.



Celebrating our independence only serves to feed the egos of our leaders, giving them a false sense of accomplishment and progress. While they revel in the festivities, the reality on the ground tells a different story – a story of neglect, poverty, and despair.



It Is time for us to reevaluate the true meaning of independence and progress. It is time for us to hold our leaders accountable, demand transparency and integrity, and work together to build a nation we can truly be proud of. Let us stop the empty celebrations and start the hard work of nation-building.



In conclusion, let us remember that true independence is not measured by the pomp and circumstance of a celebration, but by the well-being and prosperity of its people. Let us strive for a Liberia where every citizen has a chance to thrive, where corruption has no place, and where our youth have a future to look forward to, rather than taking exile to other nations.
