Today, in my capacity as Executive Officer of Booker Washington Institute (BWI), I was deeply honored and privileged to grace the National Convention and Leadership Election of the Booker Washington Institute Alumni Association (BWIAA).
The convention was a remarkable gathering that brought together delegates and representatives from various chapters and branches of the BWIAA across the country. It served as an important platform for dialogue, reflection, decision-making, and the strengthening of the bond between the institution and its alumni community.
One of the major achievements of the convention was the successful adoption of the revised BWIAA Constitution by the delegates. This significant milestone demonstrates the Association’s commitment to strengthening its governance structure and ensuring that it remains responsive to the needs and aspirations of its members.
During the convention, I had the opportunity to address my fellow alumni and provide an update on the current state of affairs at Booker Washington Institute. I highlighted the institution’s successes, ongoing developments, and achievements, while also candidly discussing some of the challenges we continue to face. I emphasized the critical role that the Alumni Association can play in supporting the growth, development, and transformation of BWI, and I called upon all alumni to remain committed partners in advancing the mission and vision of our beloved institution.
The convention also witnessed the conduct of democratic elections that ushered in a new corps of national leaders. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Kafleh president elect, William Roberts VPA, Nathan Teah VPO, Juteh Toe Secretary, Aaron Dennis Financial Secretary, Amb Musah Godfavor Siryon Parliamentarian, Samueka Chaplain and Norah Cooper Treasurer . These Leaders were entrusted with the responsibility of steering the affairs of our dear Alumni Association over the next two years.
As they embark upon this important journey of leadership and service, I wish them great success and assure them of my willingness to work collaboratively in promoting the interests of the Association and supporting the continued advancement of Booker Washington Institute.
Once again, congratulations to the newly elected leadership, and sincere appreciation to all delegates, organizers, and participants who contributed to the success of this historic convention. Together, we can continue to strengthen the legacy of BWI and build a brighter future for generations to come.

Good day everyone,
I am deeply honored and proud to have participated in the first-ever graduation ceremony held under the academic partnership between Booker Washington Institute and the University of Liberia. This historic occasion represents a major milestone in our ongoing efforts to expand access to quality, relevant, and career-focused higher education for our students.
Through this collaboration, BWI is now offering accredited Associate of Arts (AA) Degree programs in Agriculture, Electrical Engineering, and Business, three critical areas that align with Liberia’s national development priorities and workforce demands. Our goal is to provide students with the opportunity to pursue university-level education within a strong technical and practical learning environment.
Watching our students proudly walk the graduation stage alongside their counterparts from the University of Liberia was a powerful symbol of progress, partnership, and possibility. It reflects our transformation from a traditional technical institution into a dynamic center that integrates both technical training and higher education.
This partnership is more than an academic arrangement; it is a strategic investment in the future of our young people and our nation. I thank my predecessor Dr. Tarnue for initiating this. By bringing higher education closer to students and maintaining our hands-on training approach, we are helping to reduce barriers and prepare a new generation of skilled professionals who will contribute meaningfully to Liberia’s growth and development.
I extend heartfelt congratulations to our graduates and appreciation to the University of Liberia and all stakeholders who continue to support this important initiative. The success of this first joint graduation marks the beginning of even greater opportunities ahead.
Blessings!

I'm excited to share that the PSPP at Booker Washington Institute has broken ground on the Students Peace Hut. This student-led project will be a space for recreation, dialogue, and unity, promoting peace and collaboration among students. Grateful for the support from our administration, partners, and especially Senator Karnga-Lawrence. Together, we're building a brighter, more peaceful future for our students.
