Update: IWYE Represents Liberia at ECOWAS High-level Post-Conflict Enterprise Development Workshop
Work with God. Work harder. Work SMART. Work not with the mindset of competition but with focus, consistency, and patience.
We are delighted to share that IWYE was selected by the ECOWAS Commission to represent Liberia at the three-day High-level Post-Conflict Business and Enterprise Development Workshop, hosted by the ECOWAS Commission in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
With its energetic team and aspiring young women and youth, IWYE is represented at this high-level workshop by its Assistant Program and Project Director, Ms. Faith D. Dolo. Ms. Dolo joins delegates from Cabo Verde, The Gambia, Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone to align national priorities with ECOWAS private-sector-led recovery frameworks.
The high-level workshop which is being attended by senior ministers and representatives from line ministries and agencies within the region aims to challenge Member States to identify one high-impact, bankable project aligned with ECOWAS financing criteria, strengthen coordination between national ministries and agencies, and define clear co-financing mechanisms.
IWYE’s participation reinforces Liberia’s commitment to post-conflict economic recovery, enterprise development, and inclusive growth, while positioning the organisation as a credible national partner ready to support government-led, donor-aligned private-sector initiatives that expand opportunities for women and youth.
The high-level Workshop, which began on 25 February 2026, and expected to end on 27 February 2026, consolidates outcomes from three Strategic Pillars. These Pillars are as follows:
1. Presentation of key Outcomes from Track I – ECOWAP
2. Presentation of key outcomes from Track II – Post Conflict Enterprise Development, and
3. Presentation of key outcomes from Track III - Investment, domestication cross-cutting recommendations, and coordination
mechanisms.

My desire and vision is a Liberia where women and youth are not defined by circumstance, but by their potential. A Liberia where every woman and girl can access education, dignified health services, economic opportunities, and the confidence to contribute meaningfully to society.
I remain committed to building platforms that inspire, equip, and elevate women and youth into leadership, resilience, and lasting impact “.

Update: Liberia Must Match Its FP2030 Commitment with Action (Funding)!
Liberia’s reaffirmation of its FP2030 commitment is a strong policy signal. Yet, IWYE thinks commitments alone do not keep girls in school, reduce maternal deaths, or strengthen families. The reality is, only sustained and transparent Government financing for Family Planning (FP) and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services will translate that pledge into measurable national impact.
Recent reports from ELBC’s Grand Cape Mount correspondent indicate that approximately 27 students at Senje Public School are pregnant within a period of less than six months. This is not an isolated statistic. It is a warning sign. When girls leave school due to unplanned pregnancies, the consequences extend beyond that girl child or young woman, it affects household income, community resilience, and Liberia’s long-term human capital development.
IWYE believes for the Government of Liberia, the report presents a strategic opportunity for the Government to demonstrate leadership by increasing domestic allocations within the Ministry of Health budget and make real its FP2030 Commitment to protect the country’s most valuable asset (The young generation).
However, we remain committed to consistently engage constructively through evidence-based advocacy, stakeholders engagements through responsible dialogue, and public awareness campaigns through the radio to strengthen public understanding and policy action.
Bravo to the team and our partners for such a splendid presentation during the radio engagement!

Pictorial Update: Reaching the Unreachable - Access For All. We Are Leaving No One Behind!
When communities are heard, hope is restored. When their voices echos in unity and are matched with meaninful action, lives are changed. With support from our partners, our programs delivers impact - breaching gaps, reaching the unreachable, strengthening livelihoods and empowering young women, girls and youth to rise with confidence, dignity, and purpose!
To keep girls in school and curb the high rate of unplanned pregnancy and school drop out, IWYE convened a one-day, action-oriented dialogue that united key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Local Government, health care providers, students and teachers, women and youth groups, and traditional leaders.
The message was clear and urgent. We are ensuring that dialogues translate into decisive action! Thus, calling on the national government to honor its 2% commitment to Family Planning (FP) and SRHR services and to increase FP allocations in the Ministry of Health budget.
Responsible and constructive conversations drive policy actions, protect girls’ futures, and deliver lasting impact in our communities. Join us today like others to make an impact! Thanks to Hon. John Minor, City Mayor, Bentol City, for his unwavering support 👏

Pictorial Update: The Initiative for Women and Youth Empowerment (IWYE) after several inception meetings held last year with key stakeholders has officially launched Phase Two of the SRHR – Access for All Project, under the theme “Advancing Calls for Contraceptives and Equitable SRHR Services for All.”
The launch which was held in Johnsonville brought together key stakeholders, including IWYE’s Board, the Civil Society Council of Liberia, public and private health care providers, NGOs/CBOs, community leaders, and journalists.
The Phase-two of the project represents a significant milestone in our advocacy efforts. Thus, reechoing our committed to engaging national government to make real its FP 2030 commitment, recognizing that these services are fundamental to the well-being and future of Liberia’s young population.
