St. Matthew Academy Junior High School’s Under-14 Boys Soccer Team has won the Liberia Football Association Grassroots Football U-14 Tournament, held in Gbarnga at the David Kuyon Sports Stadium, featuring eight participating schools.
Before reaching the final, St. Matthew Academy defeated Anointed World of Faith three goals to zero, and later secured a two–nil victory over John Flomo Bakalu U-14 in the grand finale.
The team was led by Head Coach Theresa Vah assisted by Nuwornu Diana Wenyen, and Bro. Saye S Tailor .

Our Principal, Ms. Lorpu Siakor, is part of a 25-member delegation traveling to China for a two-week education study tour beginning September 11, 2025.
The delegation, sent by the Government of Liberia in collaboration with the Government of the People’s Republic of China through the Ministry of Education, reflects Liberia’s commitment to strengthening its education system through international cooperation and knowledge exchange.
The team comprises teachers and master trainers from rural teacher training institutions, selected through a transparent and merit-based process. Nineteen participants will depart on September 11, while the remaining six are scheduled to travel on September 14.
Led by the Assistant Minister for Teacher Education, Hon. Clifford, the study tour will expose participants to innovative teaching practices and education systems in China.

Public Service Announcement
The public is hereby informed that St. Matthew Academy Junior High School, located on Dementa Road, Gbarnga, is now open for enrollment for the 2025/2026 Academic Year, especially for members of the student community.
Entrance Examinations will be administered as follows:
First Entrance: Monday, August 11, 2025 (already held)
Second Entrance: Friday, August 15, 2025
Third & Final Entrance: Monday, August 18, 2025
All entrances begin at 8:00 AM on the school campus.
Entrance Fees: Nursery to Kindergarten 2 (K-2): 150 LD, Grades 1–3: 200 LD, Grades 4–6: 250 LD, and Grades 7–9: 300 LD
Information sheets are available for 150 LD.
The school is admitting students from Nursery through Grade 9.
Registration Periods:
Old Students: August 11–22, 2025
New Students: August 22–September 5, 2025
For the 2025/2026 school year, the school has significantly reduced registration fees and tuition.
Scholarships, including free tuition, are available for talented football and kickball players who qualify after justification processes.

SMA Records Double Victory, Advances to finals
Both the boys' and girls' teams of St. Matthew Academy (SMA) have advanced to the finals of the B**g County School Principals' Cup, following impressive performances today at the David Kuyon Sports Stadium.
Boys' Match:
The SMA boys demonstrated resilience by overcoming a second-half deficit to secure a 2–1 victory over Landmark Foundation Junior High School.
Girls' Match:
In the kickball category, the SMA girls showcased their dominance with a 3–0 win against Landmark Foundation, propelling them into the finals.
SMA now awaits the winners of tomorrow's match between Gbarnga Free Pentecostal Mission School and the Liberian Muslim Youth Junior High School. The victorious team will face SMA in the grand finale scheduled for Saturday.
